Pelosi Says Salon Owes Her An Apology for 'Setting Me Up' After Footage Leaks of Her Indoor Appointment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Wednesday that a San Francisco salon she has visited many times owes her an apology for creating a "setup" that resulted in video footage of her most recent appointment drawing controversy online.

Fox News first reported on Pelosi's indoor appointment on Tuesday after the salon owner approached the network with security footage that showed Pelosi walking through the salon without a mask covering her nose or mouth.

San Francisco's coronavirus guidelines did not permit hair stylists to work with customers at the time of Pelosi's Monday appointment. The owner of the salon described Pelosi's appointment request to Fox News as a "slap in the face."

Pelosi's office referred Newsweek to comments the speaker made about the incident during a news conference with San Francisco Unified School District leaders on Wednesday.

"I take responsibility for trusting the word of a neighborhood salon that I've been to over the years many times," Pelosi said. "As it turns out, it was a setup. So I take responsibility for falling for that setup."

When a reporter asked Pelosi if she believed she owed the service industry an apology, Pelosi responded, "I don't."

"I think that this salon owes me an apology for setting me up," Pelosi said.

Utah police replace woman's American flag after she breaks it while fighting off home intruder

The woman was worried she desecrated Old Glory while defending against the suspect

Utah police helped replace a woman’s American flag after she broke it while using Old Glory to protect her family from a home intruder on Monday, authorities said.

The woman and several family members were assaulted just outside their home after a man entered through the front gate around 8:45 a.m., the South Salt Lake Police Department said in a news release.

The woman, identified as 73-year-old Lejune Timmerman, told KUTV the stranger had jumped the fence and began beating her brothers and choking her.

She fought back after grabbing her flagpole, with the American flag still attached, police said. She struck the intruder multiple times, breaking the flagpole in the process.

"I grabbed my glory and started beating the hell back,” Timmerman told the station. “I whooped his a-- and I’ll whoop it again."

The family ran inside their home to escape the attacker, but the suspect kicked in their door and continued to attack them, police said.

Officers arrived at the home and arrested the intruder, identified as 42-year-old Justin Scott Smith. He was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, criminal mischief, and two counts of assault.

Timmerman told police she was worried she had desecrated the American flag because it had touched the ground after the pole broke during the fight.

The motive behind the attack remained unclear.

Timmerman and her brother, Paul Hultgren, told the station that crime has spiked in the area after a homeless shelter was built a block away. They said the family plans to move in the next few months.

 Sure, Juan Williams is used to getting shredded every single day of his life on “The Five,” and while those smackdowns are indeed brutal, the political beatdown he took from Civil Rights hero Leo Terrell takes the cake.

Terrell was responding to yet another dishonest and clueless piece written by Juan Williams for The Hill.

In the piece, Williams criticized Black Americans who appeared at the RNC Convention.

Juan argues that the only reason the RNC featured Black folks was to convince suburban women that Trump’s not “racist,” and to try and convince all Trump’s male white voters that they’re not racist if they vote for him.

What a stupid theory.

So, basically Juan thinks so little of black people, that in his mind all they’re worth is a few “brownie points” with white voters?

Sick.

Juan is a twisted and mentally deranged man and he’s in the correct political party with that sickness and attitude.

Here’s what he said:

“So why, then, did the Trump campaign spend so much convention time having black faces lead a ‘gaslight’ crusade to create an alternate reality in which Trump is a man intent on healing racial wounds? Well, it is a mistake to think those black faces on the convention stage were speaking to black people. They were on stage to speak to white women in the suburbs and white men in Trump’s base.”

For obvious reasons, that “hot take” from Juan didn’t sit well with Mr. Terrell – a figurehead in the civil rights movement – who, until recently was himself a Democrat. But thanks to the radicalization of the party – where they’re all basically communists now – he left.

Terrell fired back at dopey Juan, calling his piece one of the most untruthful opinion pieces ever written. OUCH! He then went on to say that Juan’s opinion was “worthless.”

Truer words have never been spoken…

Here’s what Mr. Terrell said to Juan Williams: “This is one of the most untruthful opinion pieces ever written. How dare you question the motives of Blacks supporting Trump. You are entitled to your worthless opinion. ”

There is nobody who disrespects the opinion, intentions, and thoughts of Black Americans more than the Democrat Party.

If you don’t walk in lockstep with the Dems and their hopeless and miserable agenda, you are branded a liar, and an “Uncle Tom,” and a fraud.

There’s no room for free-thinking with liberals. It’s their way or the highway.

How in God’s name is that a “tolerant” attitude?

Chris Wallace Unloads Biden Advisor For Not Holding Press Conference in 80 Days

 

On Sunday during an interview, Fox News host Chris Wallace laid into Biden adviser Symone Sanders, pressing her on why former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has not held a press conference in almost three months.

“You talk about him being on the campaign trail but I think most people have been struck that he has been — he stayed in his Delaware home mostly and then in large parts since March, he’s held a few socially distanced events,” Wallace said. “And perhaps more important, he has not held a news conference either in person or online for 80 days, almost three months. Why not?”

“Well, Chris, to be clear, Vice President Biden … does interviews, takes question from the press regularly,” Sanders replied. “And yes, in March, we were — we have adjusted to this new normal like most people in America. We have been campaigning virtually, but just because we are campaigning virtually does not mean we are not meeting actual voters across the country.”

“But why hasn’t he held a news conference for 80 days?” Wallace asked.

“Chris, as … many of y’all in the national press and the beltway press are well aware, we take pride in prioritizing local media,” Sanders said. “And so, the vice president is doing local media interviews. He’s doing national media interviews and he is taking questions from reporters.”

Wallace then shot back, “President Trump says that one of the reasons that Biden is holed up in his basement is because he’s not up to campaigning.”

CHRIS WALLACE, FOX NEWS ANCHOR: Joe Biden has largely stayed off the campaign trail since the outbreak of the coronavirus. But instead of the former vice president’s low-profile hurting him, he is seeing a growing lead over President Trump in the polls.

Joining us now, Symone Sanders, senior advisor for the Biden campaign.

Symone, what do you make of the relatively small crowd at the president’s rally last night and the fact that so many of the thousands who were there were not wearing masks?

SYMONE SANDERS, BIDEN CAMPAIGN SENIOR ADVISER: Well, thank you for having me this morning, Chris, and happy Father’s Day.

Look, Donald Trump’s debacle of a rally last night will long be remembered, lest we not forget, the president’s campaign required that folks who were attending his rally sign a waiver so that if I were to get sick the coronavirus, that the campaign would not be held liable.

But I think the most damning thing from that rally last night, Chris, was in fact the president’s admission that he, quote/unquote, said to his people to slow down the testing. This is an appalling attempt to lessen the numbers only to make him look good. And so, I think that’s what will be remembered long after last night’s debacle of a rally. The admission of the president that he slowed testing for his political benefit and it’s not for the American people.

WALLACE: Well, let me just point out, they say that it was a joke and it didn’t seem particularly — well, let me just point out, that’s what they said.

I want to pick up though on this whole question of the public health of these mass gatherings, Symone, because when there were tens of thousands of people marching in the streets and, quite rightly, in protest for the death of George Floyd and the issues of police brutality, there were so many of them — not maybe most, but many of them were not wearing masks. At that time the president called — the vice president, Joe Biden, called those rallies right and necessary, with no mention of public health.

I guess the question is, why the double standard where the protests were okay, but this rally was dangerous?

SANDERS: Chris, there is no double standard here. Protesting is an American right. The American people have the right to go out and raise their voices.

The difference here is, Chris, we are talking about the president of the United States whose vice president, by the way, heads the White House Coronavirus Task Force, holding a rally, not following their own precautions that his own public health officials have put out.

Look, the president has to lead, Chris, and President Trump has demonstrated in so many times, in every sense of the word, that he is unable to do so. And so, the difference between folks going out and protesting police brutality and the president planning a rally where six of his own advanced staffers before the rally contracted COVID-19 is as clear as day.

And again, Chris, this is about public health. No one is saying, you know, we want the economy to reopen, we want folks to get back to work, more than 20 million Americans are still out of work. Almost 120,000 people have died due to COVID-19.

Those jobless, those deaths did not have to happen. We’d have to take precautions, Chris. We have to do what is necessary in order to protect the American people, and months ago, the president —

WALLACE: By why didn’t — I guess what I’m asking though — if I may, Symone, I just am asking this one question, why did the vice president — because whether it was indoors or outdoors, whatever the reason for the gathering, there were thousands of people in the streets in these protests. Why didn’t Vice President Biden say, look, I understand the concern, but these may be potential super-spreaders?

SANDERS: Chris, I just listen to your last segment where the doctor noted that there has — there is no evidence that the protests are what have spiked coronavirus cases across the country. So I’m not sure what you’re asking or what you’re suggesting.

Look, Vice President Biden has really exhibited leadership on this issue. You know, we have been out campaigning. I also heard you say we haven’t really been on the campaign trail. We’ve been on the campaign trail since March. We’ve been campaigning virtually.

But you have seen Vice President Biden go back out into the actual campaign trail and our events are safe. They are socially distant. They adhere with the CDC guidelines.

Vice President Biden wears a mask. People participating wearing masks because this is about being safe, Chris. This about ensuring the safety of everyone involved.

And what President Trump has demonstrated yesterday is that he actually is not concerned with the public health, he is concerned with his ability to hold a rally. And I’d just like to note, the folks who are out there —

WALLACE: OK, let me —

SANDERS: — they should be able to go get a coronavirus test.

WALLACE: Symone, you got to let — Symone, you got to let me in here.

SANDERS: But the folks out there, well, you made (ph) this point, Chris —

WALLACE: Symone, you got to let —

SANDERS: — the folks out there protesting, they should be able to get a coronavirus test. Unfortunately, because the president slowed testing, they are unable to do so.

WALLACE: I don’t want to get into a fight but you got to let — you got to let me ask the question. Symone — all right, so here’s a question I’m going to ask you. And yes, in March, we were — we have adjusted to this new normal like most people in America. Vice President Biden has campaigned in Michigan and Florida. Dr. Biden has campaigned in Colorado and Texas.

So, the reality is, what we have been doing is following CDC guidelines, Chris. What we have been doing is insuring —

SANDERS: Chris, as many of you — many of y’all in the national press and the beltway press are well aware, we take pride in prioritizing local media. And so, the vice president is doing local media interviews. He’s doing national media interviews and he is taking questions from reporters.

I see quotes all the time that he said this, he said that about me, and they’re long, beautiful, flowing sentences. I said, Joe didn’t make that statement and Joe doesn’t even know the statement was made.

WALLACE: Does the former vice president contribute to the president being able to make that argument by being out of public view so often?

SANDERS: This is just despicable, Chris, honestly. It truly is. The fact that folks are parroting this — you know, just unfounded, salacious lie from the president and his campaign that Vice President Biden isn’t up to the challenge. He’s absolutely up to it. Who — he’s absolutely up to it.

Vice President Biden would tell you if he were sitting right here that he can’t wait to see Donald Trump on the debate stage and he can’t wait to campaign with him.

I just find it interesting that folks continue to parrot these lines from the Trump campaign when it’s (ph) Donald Trump who stood at the White House press program and suggested Americans should ingest bleach to clear themselves out — of the coronavirus.

WALLACE: We reported on that, too, as you — as you know, Symone.

I want to put up some new FOX polls, which I think you’re — you’re going to like. The latest FOX poll shows that Biden is leading President Trump 50 percent to 38, but when asked why they backed their candidate, 31 percent of Biden supporters say it’s because of enthusiasm for him and 63 percent because they fear Mr. Trump. For the president, it’s almost exactly the reverse.

Symone, you know, a lead is a lead. But is the lack of enthusiasm for Biden, even among Biden supporters, what you might call an enthusiasm gap, is that a potential problem?

SANDERS: No, Chris, it’s not. Look, we heard this a lot throughout the primary about an enthusiasm gap, who could and who could not turn out voters. And what we saw in the primaries is that Vice President Biden in contest after contest handily won but also turned out voters, turned out — was up in Virginia in the Democratic primary, it was up in North Carolina.

In the Georgia primaries that just happened, more than 1.1 —

WALLACE: Right.

SANDERS: — million voters voted early.

And so, we are very confident in our strategy, Chris. We think our voters are excited.

But I also think these numbers spell trouble for President Trump, that this is a referendum, this election will be a referendum on his presidency, on his lack of leadership and how his actions have directly affected the American people.

Anonymous Democrat operative's account of how election fraud is allegedly committed was 'revealing' and 'chilling': NY Post reporter

'There are some very, very easy ways' to make mail-in voting 'a lot safer,' reporter says

Political insider explains voter fraud with mail-in ballots

New York Post writer Jon Levine on how a Democratic operative admitted to fraud.

An anonymous Democratic operative’s account of how election fraud is allegedly committed was “revealing” and “chilling,” the New York Post reporter who interviewed him told “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday.

“Confessions of a voter fraud: I was a master at fixing mail-in ballots,” was published in The New York Post on Saturday and was written by Jon Levine, who interviewed the top Democratic operative and wrote “voter fraud, especially with mail-in ballots, is no myth.”

Levine added that the operative “knows this because he’s been doing it, on a grand scale, for decades.”

Mail-in ballots have become a point of contention between Republicans and Democrats in the 2020 elections.

Democrats contend President Trump and new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy are trying to sabotage the 2020 election by delaying service that could compromise mail-in ballots during the coronavirus pandemic.

Republicans dismissed the Democrats' election concerns as a conspiracy theory. President Trump has railed against mail-in voting over fraud concerns as more states seek to increase it during the pandemic.

Levine told “Fox & Friends” that the political insider, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he fears prosecution, came to The New York Post and presented evidence. Levine called him “a very serious guy in New Jersey” who “has a very long track record with some of the biggest politicians in that state.”

“Once he started talking and once it came from the horse's mouth, it was both … revealing, but also chilling,” Levine said.

The Democratic operative “said fraud is more the rule than the exception,” Levine wrote in the piece.

“His dirty work has taken him through the weeds of municipal and federal elections in Paterson, Atlantic City, Camden, Newark, Hoboken and Hudson County and his fingerprints can be found in local legislative, mayoral and congressional races across the Garden State,” The Post article said. “Some of the biggest names and highest office holders in New Jersey have benefited from his tricks, according to campaign records The Post reviewed.”

Levine went on to write that “The whisteblower — whose identity, rap sheet and long history working as a consultant to various campaigns were confirmed by The Post — says he not only changed ballots himself over the years, but led teams of fraudsters and mentored at least 20 operatives in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania — a critical 2020 swing state.”

Levine told “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday that what the operative would say is the “voter is mailed the ballot and then once the ballots go out, they just fan out and they knock on doors and they convince people to hand over completed ballots.”

“He says a shocking number of people will just hand over completed ballots,” Levine added.

“This is a real thing,” the tipster said, according to the New York Post. “And there is going to be a f–king war coming November 3rd over this stuff … If they knew how the sausage was made, they could fix it.”

Host Brian Kilmeade pointed to another part of the article where the anonymous source explained that voter fraud is also connected to nursing homes, where the nurses are allegedly "paid operatives: and fill out absentee ballots for the seniors."

“This has been called ‘granny harvesting’ in the past,” Levine said. “They don't even have to steam it open because the nurse is on the payroll and then they just go and the nurse gives a stack of ballots, it’s like, ‘Hello, we’re going to do the ballot together’ and then it's both fraud and it's elder abuse frankly.”

The piece noted that according to the operative, “sometimes postal employees are in on the scam.”

The operative reportedly told The Post, “You have a postman who is a rabid anti-Trump guy and he’s working in Bedminster or some Republican stronghold … He can take those [filled-out] ballots, and knowing 95% are going to a Republican, he can just throw those in the garbage.”

Kilmeade asked Levine on Tuesday, “When you were done with the interview, when you wrote the story, what did you walk away with?”

“The takeaway for me and his [the operative’s] takeaway, too is … the answer here is not to abolish mail-in voting, but that there are some very, very easy ways to just make it a lot safer,” Levine said in response. “Things like having a watermark or bar code.

“He was saying treat a ballot with the same security you treat the money,” Levine continued. “I could never take a $20 bill, put it into a copy machine and come out with a new $20 bill that I could just go spend at the store because that's a one-way ticket to jail.”

Levine stressed that a ballot should be treated the same way and should include security features.

Levine also said “voter education” is important.

“Don't hand your ballot to a random person that knocks at your door saying he will deliver it for you. Do it yourself,” he explained.

Biden Heckled In Pittsburgh: ‘You Finally Got Out Of The Basement!’

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden was heckled as he helped to deliver pizzas during a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania campaign stop Monday.

The action was posted to Twitter by Bloomberg reporter Tyler Pager:

“You finally got out of the basement!” a man could be heard shouting off-screen. “Hey Joe, who paid for those pizzas? Hey Joe, who — Trump would have gave us steak!”

A key swing state critical to both campaigns, Pennsylvania went Republican in 2016 for the first time since 1988. Schiff, Pelosi Livid After Intel Community Ditches 'Manipulated' Election Briefings For Written Updates

 House Democrats are livid after the Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, announced that US intel agencies would be pulling the plug on in-person congressional briefings on election security, and will instead be providing written updates ahead of November.

In a verbal notification to the House Intelligence Committee, chaired by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Ratcliffe argued that the process will prevent the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information, according to The Hill.

Ratcliffe followed up with Friday letters addressed to top House and Senate lawmakers in which he emphasized that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) plans to continue Congressional oversight efforts.

"The ODNI will primarily meet its obligation to keep Congress fully and currently informed leading into the Presidential election through written finished intelligence products," read the letters, which were obtained by The Hill.

"I believe this approach helps ensure, to the maximum extent possible, that the information ODNI provides the Congress in support of your oversight responsibilities on elections security, foreign malign influence, and election interference is not misunderstood nor politicized. It will also better protect our sources and methods and most sensitive intelligence from additional unauthorized disclosures or misuse."

Democrats are not happy

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Adam Schiff railed against the move, suggesting that it would help conceal public knowledge of foreign interference in US politics.

"This is a shocking abdication of its lawful responsibility to keep the Congress currently informed, and a betrayal of the public’s right to know how foreign powers are trying to subvert our democracy. This intelligence belongs to the American people, not the agencies which are its custodian," reads a joint statement.

Pelosi and Schiff threatened that they will "consider the full range of tools available to the House to compel compliance" if the ODNI does not resume briefings, claiming it is a "shameful" attempt by the Trump administration to "withhold election-related information from Congress and the American people at the precise moment that greater transparency and accountability is required."

CNN first reported the shift from in-person briefings to written updates.

The announcement comes after William Evanina, the director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, released a statement detailing election security threats. -The Hill

Former acting Director of National Intelligence, Richard Grenell, welcomed the move - tweeting on Saturday: "Career intelligence officials came to me to say they didn’t want to brief the Hill because the partial information leaks and manipulation of their words were detrimental to their careers," adding "This is a very good reform."
