IRONIC: The Case Of Fani Willis Just Took An Unexpected Turn…

Fani Willis is already in hot water due to her improper relationship with attorney Nathan Wade, but things just went from bad to worse for Willis.

Judge Scott McAfee recently warned Willis that she could potentially be placed under a gag order—ironic to say the least.

At the center of the controversy driving the gag order is an incident WLTR covered in which Fani Willis addressed her church and played the race card.

This is just one of many legal and professional troubles currently plaguing Willis, with the possibility of her being disbarred being a potential consequence of her relationship with Wade.

Regardless, one thing is certain: the Fulton County prosecutor has done irreparable harm to her reputation and her career. Here’s more on the latest, potential development:

The Epoch Times provided this statement from Judge McAfee:

“The time may well have arrived for an order preventing the State from mentioning the case in any public forum to prevent prejudicial publicity, but that is not the motion presently before the Court.”

Atlanta Journal Constitution reporter Tamar Hallerman writes: “A gag order on the Fulton DA offers what could be an enticing option for defense attorneys seeking an edge over Fani Willis. But so far none have taken the bait.”

CBS News revealed:

In a significant move along these lines, according to a source close to her, Willis has decided to play a leading courtroom role herself in the sprawling conspiracy case against Donald Trump and 14 co-defendants.

“I think there are efforts to slow down the train, but the train is coming,” Willis said with characteristic bravado during impromptu remarks to CNN as she was leaving a Georgia Easter egg hunt on March 23.

Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Disrupted by Wicked Pro-Palestine Protesters

A group of protesters advocating for a cease-fire in Gaza disrupted a solemn Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday evening.

The demonstrators, who earlier had assembled in Times Square for a pro-Palestine rally, entered the iconic church during the Easter Vigil service, chanting “Free, free Palestine” during the liturgy.

The incident occurred during the second reading of the service, as thousands of worshippers gathered to observe one of the most important celebrations in the Christian calendar. Eyewitnesses described a sudden interruption when a small group of individuals began to chant loudly.

The protesters were identified as affiliates of Extinction Rebellion NYC’s Palestinian Solidarity group, The New York Post reported.

They were seen carrying a flag emblazoned with an olive tree and the stark message “SILENCE = DEATH.” The disruption was short-lived as the individuals were promptly escorted out of the cathedral by security.

WATCH:

Daily Mail reported:

Horrified onlookers remained in their pews as the group was led outside. Some rose to their feet, while others pointed cellphones at the ruckus, cameras rolling.

As they were ushered away, heads began to turn as a chant rang out: ‘Free, free Palestine!’

One protestor, identified only as Matthew M., said he believed churches calling for an end to the conflict in Gaza could ‘make a difference.’

‘The United Nations Security Council calling for a ceasefire is a good start, but churches making ceasefire statements is also a part of the solution,’ he said.

Since the start of the war in the Middle East, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has called for peace and decried the mass casualty of civilians.

The Archdiocese of New York has not released an official statement regarding the incident at the time of reporting. The Easter Vigil is traditionally a time of reflection and celebration within the Christian faith, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The intrusion by the pro-Palestine group has reignited debates on the intersection of activism and worship, and the sanctity of religious services.

One Twitter user wrote, “No Christian will do this for Muslim worshippers in their mosque. This is disrespectful and an insult to Christianity.”

Another user commented, “Imagine if Christians walked into a Mosque and held up a pro-Israel banner?”

Another one wrote, “For anyone whose unaware, protesting and high jacking peoples religious holidays will typically make them more against you, than for you. Keep it in public areas, approved for protesting, stop breaking the law.”

Republican Says He’s Received Commitment From Johnson to Hold Ukraine Vote

Any move by Mr. Johnson to bring a vote on such legislation could be met with a forced vote on the motion to vacate.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) speaks at the Capitol in Washington on March 20, 2024.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) says he’s gotten a commitment from House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to hold a vote on supplemental assistance to Ukraine.

Ukraine has been a recurring issue during the 118th Congress, with many divisions breaking down along party lines. Several Republicans have called for limiting, auditing, or outright refusing additional aid to the Eastern European nation, while Democrats have largely been supportive of Ukraine.

These party-line divisions have stalled progress on aid for both Ukraine in both chambers of Congress.

But if Mr. Bacon is right, Mr. Johnson seems on track to make another foray into funding Ukraine—even as the threat of a removal from the speakership hangs over him.

Speaking on “Meet the Press” during a March 31 appearance on the Sunday show, Mr. Bacon reported that Mr. Johnson “is committed to making [Ukraine] the first, the top priority” when lawmakers return to Washington.

That return won’t come until later in April, as lawmakers are currently in their districts for the Easter recess.

But when Congress returns, Mr. Bacon said, “I have a commitment for the speaker and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee that we’re going to put this on the floor and get a vote.”

Mr. Bacon indicated that this funding will likely take the form of a loan, at least in part.

That would accord with an earlier proposal by former President Donald Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee.

“WE SHOULD NEVER GIVE MONEY ANYMORE WITHOUT THE HOPE OF A PAYBACK, OR WITHOUT ‘STRINGS’ ATTACHED,“ President Trump wrote in a February post on Truth Social. ”THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOULD BE ‘STUPID’ NO LONGER!”

Many Republicans responded favorably to this proposal, and Mr. Bacon said he expects at least portions of the legislation to take that form.

“I think there'll be segments to this funding that will be a loan, it won’t be the whole thing,” Mr. Bacon said.

Citing the failures of previous efforts to provide funding on Ukraine, Mr. Bacon said that this bill should be crafted in a way that can appease both chambers and both parties.

“I want to make sure that we have support in the Senate,” Mr. Bacon said. “I don’t want to do a ping pong, where we send it back over the Senate, and they don’t act. So this has got to be a bicameral bipartisan solution.”

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) also expressed confidence during a March 31 appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” that there would be a vote on a new Ukraine funding package.

“I believe there will be a vote when we get back from the Easter recess,” he said.

“Certainly, this is critically important for our allies,” Mr. Lawler opined. “We are the leader of the free world and we can not shirk on our responsibility to uphold and defend democracies across the globe.”

Mr. Lawler has backed a discharge petition on a Ukraine aid bill, a parliamentary maneuver that would force a vote on the legislation without the backing of Mr. Johnson.

Mr. Lawler demurred when pressed to explain his reasons for believing there would be such a vote, merely reiterating, “I am confident that [Johnson] is going to bring a bill to the floor and that we will have a vote. He understands the responsibility that we have.”

Motion to Vacate

Hanging over all of this is the now ever-present threat of Mr. Johnson losing the speakership.

Following the passage of a $1.2 trillion funding bill, which was rammed through Congress before the break, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) introduced a motion to vacate the speakership against Mr. Johnson.

She declined to make the measure privileged, which would have forced a vote. Instead, she’s said that the motion is a “pink slip” and a warning to Mr. Johnson—but has not ruled out forcing a vote later on.

However, Ms. Greene is an outspoken critic of funding Ukraine, and any move by Mr. Johnson to bring a vote on such legislation could be met with a forced vote on the motion to vacate.

This was the same maneuver used by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) against then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) in October, which ended in Mr. McCarthy’s ouster.

However, many lawmakers who helped oust Mr. McCarthy have expressed skepticism of doing the same to Mr. Johnson, saying it could end in Democrats claiming the speaker’s gavel.

Mr. Lawler addressed the threat, calling it “idiotic” and saying it wouldn’t help advance Ms. Greene’s agenda.

There have also been some indications that Democrats could help save Mr. Johnson’s job.

Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) spoke about the issue during his own appearance on “Meet the Press” the same day.

He emphasized that he’s behind Democratic leadership “100 percent,” but said he would be willing to back Mr. Johnson if advised to do so by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.).

Thus, it’s unclear whether Ms. Greene’s gambit would even work.

However, it’s likely that the threat posed by Ms. Greene’s measure will continue to hang over Congress as they return to Capitol Hill later in April.

UK ‘Conservatives’ on Pace for Worst Election Defeat in Party History Under Globalist PM Sunak

LONDON, ENGLAND - MARCH 11: Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (R) talks with Ahmad Al Dubayan, Di

The Tories are on pace for their worst-ever election result according to a seat-by-seat survey which found that Rishi Sunak’s neo-liberal party may win as fewer than 100 seats in the upcoming general election.

A poll of 15,000 people conducted by Survation on behalf of globalist Best for Britain think tank and published in The Sunday Times found that the so-called Conservatives of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak would win just 98 seats in the 650 member House of Commons, compared to as many as 468 for the left-wing Labour Party of Sir Keir Starmer.

The projected electoral wipeout would be the worst in the history of the 190-year-old Tory Party, eclipsing the disastrous defeat in 1997 when Tony Blair’s Labour secured 418 seats to 165 for John Major’s Conservatives.

To make matters worse for the embattled prime minister — who is facing rumours of being replaced in a desperate bid to save the party before the next general election — Sunak is even on the precipice of losing his own seat, with the seat-by-seat analysis showing that he currently only holds a 2.5 per cent lead in the race.

Meanwhile, other senior members of the party, including Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, Defence Secretary Grant Shapps, Home Secretary James Cleverly, and Leader of the House Penny Mordaunt are also all at risk of losing their seats in parliament.

While the survey will likely bolster calls for Sunak to be sacked, the poll found that even if he were to be replaced, Labour still holds a commanding lead against any of the likely picks to take over the party.

Therefore, former Conservative Party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith said that the focus should be on turning around the country rather than on internal political battles.

“Those of us in marginal seats know only too well that the public … are not desperate for a Labour government,” Duncan Smith said. “The last thing we should do is … change the leadership when the key thing is that we give the economy time to grow, [for] interest rates to come down, put the difficult times behind us and show the public the real danger Labour poses with their unsustainable rush to net zero that will cost trillions of pounds to taxpayers.”

The former Tory leader admitted that there is “real anger with the government” but said that the only way to improve the public’s view of the government would be to bring inflation down, reduce taxes, and finally get migrant removal flights to the East African nation of Rwanda off the ground.

Former Brexit Secretary Lord David Frost concurred that the only means of saving the party would be to reject the move towards neo-liberal globalist policies and return to its small-c conservative roots.

“The Tory party needs to face up to the reality that its current policies have alienated huge numbers of our voters. Only a shift to properly conservative policies, to deliver the change in the way the country is run that people voted for with Brexit, can alter that. It’s not too late — but time is running out,” he said.

However, it appears that Sunak and his globalist cohort in Downing Street seem intent on continuing their failed agenda, which has seen support swell for the right-wing populist Reform Party founded by Brexit leader Nigel Farage as it campaigns to right on issues such as mass migration and the net zero climate agenda. The survey found that Reform would win 8.5 per cent of voters, which is a low-end projection among current polling, meaning the defeat for the Tories could be even greater.

Wild Video Shows Oregon Man Narrowly Escape Being Split In Half By Saw Blade

A runaway saw blade came loose from a nearby construction site Thursday and hurtled toward an Oregon man who was lucky to escape with his life, ABC7 reported.

Surveillance video shows Shane Reimche walk into a convenience store in Eugene only seconds before the four-foot blade came screaming across the parking lot and slammed into the store’s exterior wall, just inches from the door, according to the video and ABC7.

“I mean, obviously it wasn’t my time but probably closest I’ve ever experienced,” said Reimche.

Reimche told ABC7 that he “was walking into the store here, I put my hand on the door, and I heard a loud bang and yelling here at the corner. Just as a cloud of smoke pops up and I see a guy fall in the ditch, and four-foot blade hurtling at me.”

The store’s owner told ABC7 that the impact of the blade hitting the wall was so strong that the whole building shook.

“We were standing behind the counter, all I heard was metal rolling down the street and I looked at the camera, it was just wind,” the owner said. “All of a sudden we heard a loud bang. It shook the whole store.”

One of the contractors on site who witnessed the near tragedy said that in addition to possible operator error, the blade might have come loose due to a lost bolt, ABC7 reported.

Reimche told ABC7 that he’s grateful to be alive.

“I was thinking maybe it’s my time,” he said. “I don’t think I would’ve survived being touched by that thing.”

Trillions of Cicadas Expected to Invade the United States in Rare Event That Last Occurred Under Thomas Jefferson

Scientists expect trillions of Cicadas to invade the United States for the first time In 221 years.

At the end of April, trillions of Cicadas are expected to emerge from the ground and swarm across 17 states in a massive mating frenzy.

Live Science reported, “The rare double cicada brood will include the two of the largest cicada broods, Brood XIII and XIX, which will co-emerge en mass after having lived underground for 17 and 13 years.”

The last time a massive periodical brood occurred was in 1803, when Thomas Jefferson was President.

The rare mating frenzy won’t happen again until 2244.

Per The Sun:

TRILLIONS of cicadas are set to invade the United States for the first time in 221 years, scientists say.

In late April, two large broods of periodical cicadas are expected to emerge from the ground for a noisy mating frenzy.

“Billions, even trillions, of cicadas are going to emerge at the same time across 17 states,” Chris Simon, a professor in UConn’s Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, told Live Science.

Brood XIII and XIX have been living underground for 17 and 13 years respectively.

An event like this hasn’t occurred since 1803 when Thomas Jefferson was president and it’s not expected to happen again until 2244.

The states that will get the most glimpses of the cicadas are Virginia, Louisiana, Illinois, and North Carolina.
