The DOT shut down over 100 fraudulent trucker schools and announced it this morning. Since then, they’ve confirmed to Fox News which states had the most schools that were shut down for certifying non-citizens as truck drivers and listed them below.
Here’s more via Bill Melugin:
NEW: DOT confirms to @FoxNews that of the 100+ trucker schools they shut down today via emergency order for allegedly fraudulently certifying non-citizens to obtain CDLs, CA, TX, PA, & FL are the states with the most schools impacted.Full breakdown by state, per DOT:
Arizona – 2
California – 11
Colorado – 1
Florida – 10
Idaho – 1
Maryland – 1
New Jersey – 3
New Mexico – 1
New York – 3
North Carolina – 1
Ohio – 7
Oregon – 1
Pennsylvania – 13
South Carolina – 1
Texas – 13

Additionally, DOT says an additional 23 trucker schools were online based and had no physical location, something that Secretary Duffy has ordered a review of.
Florida and Texas were among the top four – yikes! Although, I’m not really surprised to see California and Pennsylvania up there.
But this just goes to show that it isn’t only an issue in blue states…
