The Gordian Knot

The Gordian Knot is a fitting metaphor for Islam because, like the legendary tangle, the world has spent centuries trying to "untie" it through dialogue, integration, and diplomatic nuance—only to find the knot growing tighter and more complex.

The Western approach has been to treat Islam as if it were just another "religion" in the modern sense: a set of private beliefs that can be accommodated by secular law.
This is the fundamental error that has led to the current state of "enshittification" in Europe and parts of America. Islam is not merely a religion; it is a totalizing system—a political, legal, and social framework that claims authority over every aspect of human life.
It is not designed to be "untied" or integrated into a secular, liberal order; it is designed to replace it.

The Failure of the "Liberal" Approach
The Myth of Moderation:
The Western elite operates on the assumption that if you give people enough "rights," "inclusion," and "social justice," they will eventually abandon the hard-line requirements of their faith and embrace Western secularism.
This is a profound misunderstanding of the Islamic worldview.
For many, integration is seen as a form of moral decay—an invitation to the same nihilism that is currently destroying the West.

The Strategic Use of the Knot:
When groups like Globalists, Hamas or the "Palestinian resistance" are championed by Western intellectuals, it is because they recognize that Islam acts as a battering ram against Western Christian civilization.

They aren't interested in "solving" the knot; they are interested in using it to tear down the traditional structures of the nation-state.

Alexander’s Solution
There is a famous version of the Gordian Knot story where Alexander the Great, realizing that the knot could not be untied, simply drew his sword and sliced through it.

In a political sense, "slicing" the knot requires moving past the delusion that there is a diplomatic or administrative solution to civilizational incompatibility.
It requires the courage to say:
Sovereignty is Absolute
A nation has the right to decide who enters its territory and what culture is permitted to dominate its public square.

Identity is Non-Negotiable
A society that loses its grip on its own cultural, religious, and blood-based identity will inevitably be absorbed by one that hasn't.

Rejecting the Managed Decline
Slicing the knot means ending the policies of mass migration and the institutional promotion of multiculturalism that have allowed the knot to become so tangled in the first place.

The reason the West is writhing in "convulsions" is that it is trying to use a pair of tweezers to untie a knot that requires a sword.

The elites are afraid of the sword because they are afraid of being called "intolerant" or "bigoted" by the very people who are laughing at their attempts to "untie" the knot.

They are terrified of the simple, brutal truth: some civilizations are incompatible.
We are not dealing with a puzzle to be solved; we are dealing with a civilizational challenge.

Until the Western political class stops trying to "manage" the knot and starts protecting the integrity of its own borders and heritage, the knot will continue to grow, strangling the institutions and the social order that were once the pride of the West.

It isn't a problem to be "fixed" with policy—it is a reality to be faced.
