Rep. Thomas Massie is reportedly on the floor announcing that he’s forcing a vote to impeach Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and that vote happens this week – maybe. But even if it happens next week, it sounds like it will happen.
According to Solender, Democrats are all in on this one: “Democrats likely to support this in droves. “Sounds like a great idea to me,” Rep. Jared Huffman told
@axios.”
Hopefully a few will peel off from Democrats, given that we are approaching the midterms, so that it’s not a difficult vote for Republicans, who have a tiny majority in the House with only five more seats than Dems. But with Massie voting with Dems, that puts the majority/minority at 218-215.
But really, Massie is trying to do the most damage he can to Trump on the way out of office. But even if Democrats were to succeed on this with Massie, he’d still have to get the Senate to try and impeach Massie to remove him. This is just a stunt to give Democrats and the garbage media a talking point ahead of the midterms.
