Israeli outlet Channel 14 is reporting that the Commander in Chief told CENTCOM to “open the gates of hell” on Iran.

The exact wording remains attributed to C14. Neither the White House nor CENTCOM had publicly confirmed that quote as of publication.

The deadly Iranian attack behind the report, however, has been confirmed by the United States military.

NewsWire carried the dramatic report Saturday afternoon:

Two Americans Killed, One Still Missing

CENTCOM announced that two U.S. service members were killed in action on July 17 while American and partner forces defended Jordan against Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.

A third American service member remains missing in action.

Four more were medically evacuated to a hospital in Jordan. CENTCOM said all four were later discharged, while other troops treated for minor injuries returned to duty.

The command said the identities of the fallen will be withheld until 24 hours after their families have been notified.

Here is CENTCOM’s official statement:

The Associated Press reported that these were the first U.S. troop deaths caused by direct Iranian fire since the opening days of the war. The attack followed days of rapidly intensifying exchanges between American and Iranian forces.

The military has released few details about the precise location of the attack or the search for the missing service member. The Pentagon is also withholding the names of those killed while their families receive notification.

For two American families, the worst possible message has already arrived. Another family is waiting for news while military personnel continue searching for the missing service member.

The gravity of those losses gives the reported order from President Trump an unmistakable context. Iran crossed a deadly threshold, and the American response now appears poised to enter a more punishing phase.

C14 Reports The Order Came Down

Channel 14’s English-language account published the original report, saying President Trump had told CENTCOM to “open the gates of hell” on Iran.

C14 did not disclose the source behind the language or provide an operational description of what the order entails. No public White House transcript or CENTCOM statement currently contains that phrase.

That leaves the quote attributed to the Israeli outlet while Americans await direct confirmation from the administration.

The battlefield activity surrounding the report is already severe. CBS News reported that the U.S. military completed a seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iranian targets early Saturday.

CENTCOM said those missions hit surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities. American fighter jets, drones, and warships were all involved.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed strikes on U.S. facilities across the region, including sites in Jordan, Syria, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. The U.S. military disputed several Iranian claims Friday, though the later fatal attack in Jordan is now officially confirmed.

The State Department has urged Americans around the world to exercise increased caution, warning that U.S. diplomatic facilities and other American interests may be targeted as the conflict widens.

The Ceasefire Has Collapsed

The latest escalation follows the collapse of a preliminary deal that was supposed to pull Washington and Tehran back from a wider war.

An Associated Press analysis traces the renewed fighting to an Iranian attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz on June 25. That strike triggered a chain of attacks, retaliation, and expanding military operations that erased the short-lived diplomatic opening.

Iran subsequently targeted neighboring Gulf states that host American forces, including Kuwait and Bahrain. The United States resumed major strikes and moved to enforce a naval blockade around Iranian ports.

The conflict now spans military bases, shipping lanes, energy infrastructure, air defenses, and weapons facilities across the region. Each new round has raised the risk of additional American casualties and a broader regional war.

That danger became reality in Jordan when Iranian fire killed two U.S. troops and left another missing.

CENTCOM Is Already Tightening The Pressure

The U.S. military’s posture was hardening even before the C14 report surfaced.

U.S. Central Command said five commercial vessels had been redirected and another vessel disabled under President Trump’s blockade order as of July 18.

The USS Donald Cook was also operating in the Arabian Sea as American forces enforced the blockade and protected the alternate shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz.

Any new order for a larger retaliation could expand the intensity, pace, or target set of ongoing operations. The administration has not yet announced those details, and responsible reporting requires waiting for the official military plan rather than guessing at targets.

One point is already beyond dispute: Iran killed American service members during a direct attack.

President Trump’s response now carries the weight of those deaths, the search for the missing American, and the safety of every U.S. service member stationed across the region.

If C14’s report is accurate, CENTCOM has been told to take the gloves off.

We will update this story when the White House or the Pentagon confirms the reported order and releases further operational details.
