Supreme Court to decide birthright citizenship for noncitizens

President Trump ended birthright citizenship earlier this year for illegal immigrants and noncitizens, and now the Supreme Court has decided to take up a challenge to Trump’s executive order.

Here’s the news:

I honestly don’t see how the Supreme Court doesn’t narrow this to US citizens, given the ‘subject to the jurisdiction thereof’ clause in the 14th amendment. The original intent had to do with ensuring former slaves had the full rights of citizenship in this country. It wasn’t meant to be abused the way it has been for decades.
