Black Lives Matter is rejoicing after scoring this shocking legal victory

Blind justice is the foundation of America’s legal system, meaning that no individual should get different treatment based on status, race, gender, or other factors beyond their control.

Most Americans would agree but now sacrifices made during the civil rights movement to achieve equal justice for all are going up smoke.

And Black Lives Matter is rejoicing after scoring this shocking legal victory.

There is nothing progressive about the radical Left in America

Those on the Left famously like to call themselves progressives, yet a quick glance at their agenda shows that there is nothing progressive about them.

Instead of promoting a colorblind society that treats all citizens with equality, Democrats are determined to make race front and center at every single moment.

And any day now, California is expected to advance a bill that would mandate the consideration of race in criminal sentencing.

The bill, known more specifically as Assembly Bill (AB) 852, passed last May in the California State Assembly by a vote of 58-13, and is awaiting further action in the Public Safety Committee in the California State Senate.

AB 852 is a product of California Governor Gavin Newsom’s Reparations Task Force, which has been working tirelessly to allegedly right the wrongs of slavery, despite California never allowing slavery or segregation.

The likely advancement of AB 852 has many legal experts asking serious questions about its legality and how it will be used in practice.

One such legal expert, Brett Tolman, a former U.S. Attorney and executive director of Right On Crime, lambasted AB 852, saying, “Equity sentencing is a direct violation of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution and sets up the criminal justice system to fail.”

He added, “Lady Justice is blindfolded for a distinct reason — to not be persuaded by a person’s sex or color of their skin or their religion to deliver a disparate sentence.”

Although many on the Left like to claim that they stand on the side of equality and social justice, time and time again leftists support measures that achieve the opposite result.

As Brett Tolman pointed out, AB 852 is in direct violation of the 14th Amendment, which means that future legal challenges could derail this horrible bill.

Nonetheless, AB 852 shows that the radical Left is determined to elevate race as a factor in everyone’s day-to-day lives.

That’s something many agree looks a whole lot like dragging the country back to the days of Jim Crow — a charge Americans say they’re sick of left-wing politicians like President Joe Biden baselessly slapping on them for political points.
