On Sunday, RINO Liz Cheney was booed while delivering the commencement speech at her alma mater Colorado College.
The former U.S. Rep has fallen out of relevancy after she betrayed former President Donald Trump and her political party. After serving three terms, Cheney was run out of office after voting to impeach Trump after the Jan 6 Capitol protests.
Cheney was one of two Republican lawmakers on the Jan 6 witch hunt committee who tried to falsely accuse Trump of being involved in/responsible for the “insurrection” at the Capitol.
Despite her best efforts to gain popularity among anti-Trump Republicans and Democrats, Cheney has found herself disowned from both political parties.
During her commencement address on Sunday, graduates booed and turned their chairs to face away from the former Rep while she was speaking.
One of the graduates had a message on her graduation cap for Cheney that said, “Why listen to a racist, imperialist, transphobic, war monger?? Your HATE is loud.”
During her speech, Cheney discussed her role on the Jan 6 witch hunt committee, commending herself and her colleagues for their work. Cheney also tried to reinforce the idea that Trump poses a threat to democracy.
Cheney also told the graduates that the Republican party wanted her to lie about the 2020 election results and patted herself on the back for her “resilience” and commitment to the “truth.”
“After the 2020 election and the attack of January 6th, my fellow Republicans wanted me to lie,” Cheney said. “They wanted me to say the 2020 election was stolen, the attack of January 6th wasn’t a big deal, and Donald Trump wasn’t dangerous.”
“I had to choose between lying and losing my position in House leadership,” she continued. “As I spoke to my colleagues on my last morning as chair of the Republican conference… I told them that if they wanted a leader who would lie, they should choose someone else.”
