Sunday February 13
New Zealand's North Island is currently experiencing heavy rain and strong winds (the tail end of a tropical cyclone - from further north in the Pacific). It has not however dampened spirits outside our parliament in Wellington.
Images from the sixth day of the protest against the government's Covid-19 restrictions outside Parliament in Wellington.
It was a damp start to the day for protesters who camped outside as rain and heavy winds battered the capital overnight.
There were fewer people protesting first thing in the morning, after numbers swelled to around 1000 yesterday.
Those who remained were re-securing their tents and marquees after the stormy night.
At 8.30am, Parliament's loudspeakers once more started blasting music by Barry Mannilow and others.
Following a Twitter post by UK musician James Blunt telling the New Zealand police to contact him if the music being used did not deter protestors, his song You're Beautiful, was added to the playlist.
Some of the protesters sang along to the tune, and danced to another of the pieces being played - Babyshark.
As the day progressed, the number of protesters increased and began to get more vocal, flying flags and bringing in more bales of hay.
People in the crowd are blasting air horns and tooting truck horns, with the protesters cheering loudly in response.
