49 Republicans Help Democrats Pass Billions in Welfare, Driver’s Licenses for 95K Afghans Brought to U.S.

A total of 49 House and Senate Republicans helped Democrats pass billions in American taxpayer money on welfare, driver’s licenses, housing costs, and more for Afghans brought to the United States as part of President Joe Biden’s massive resettlement operation.

On Thursday, 34 House Republicans and 15 Senate Republicans voted with Democrats to approve $6.4 billion in taxpayer money for the roughly 95,000 Afghans that Biden hopes to bring to the U.S. over the next 12 months — a population nine times larger than Jackson, Wyoming’s resident population.

The Republican lawmakers backed the funding provisions despite overwhelming opposition to Afghan resettlement from Republican and Republican-leaning voters. The latest Pew Research Center survey shows that 63 percent of GOP voters oppose the Afghan resettlement.

Already, as Breitbart News reported, 40,800 Afghans are temporarily living at eight U.S. military bases in Texas, Virginia, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Indiana, and New Jersey.

The funding for Biden’s resettlement operation was slipped into a government funding bill and will give public benefits like welfare, housing assistance, medical coverage, and state-issued driver’s licenses to tens of thousands of newly-arrived Afghans.

Specifically, the provision giving IDs and driver’s licenses allow Afghans to skirt vital national security requirements put in place after the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attacks, according to some lawmakers and expert Andrew Arthur:

I will leave it up to others to decide whether giving massive amounts of cash to aliens who have no real status in the United States is a good idea or not. My main concern is the fact the [funding bill] makes paroled Afghan nationals eligible for driver’s licenses and identification cards, even if they are barred from receiving them under a law passed to protect the American people against national-security risks. [Emphasis added]

Section 202(b)(2)(C) of the REAL ID Act requires states to ensure that applicants for driver’s licenses have lawful status in the United States (including citizenship or a green card). Section 2502 in the [funding bill] would explicitly waive that requirement — not for you, or for those green card holders — but rather exclusively for paroled Afghan nationals. [Emphasis added]

Likewise, the funding bill leaves Biden’s resettlement operation wide open for future waves of Afghans to be brought to the U.S. by extending such resettlement to September 2022 and beyond for the foreign relatives of Afghans who get resettled in American communities.

Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN), who voted against the funding bill, said the provisions “opens the U.S. to unlimited refugee resettlement from Afghanistan with zero vetting, putting our security at even greater risk.”

Refugee contractors, funded by taxpayer money to annually resettle refugees, will be awarded $1.7 billion to “provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services, including wrap-around services during temporary housing and after resettlement, housing assistance, medical assistance, legal assistance, and case management assistance.”

Refugee resettlement costs taxpayers nearly $9 billion every five years. Over the course of a lifetime, taxpayers pay about $133,000 per refugee and within five years of resettlement, roughly 16 percent will need taxpayer-funded housing assistance.

Over the last 20 years, nearly a million refugees have been resettled in the nation — more than double that of residents living in Miami, Florida, and it would be the equivalent of annually adding the population of Pensacola, Florida.

Gun maker Smith & Wesson relocating headquarters to Tennessee, investing $125 million

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Gun maker Smith & Wesson is relocating its headquarters to Tennessee.

Governor Bill Lee says the company will invest $125 million to make the move to the Volunteer State and create 750 new jobs.

The new headquarters is moving from Springfield, Massachusetts to Maryville, Tennessee in Blount County.

Smith & Wesson is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and designers of firearms and has been around since 1852. The company makes handguns. long guns, handcuffs, suppressors, and other firearm-related products.

“Our pro-business reputation, skilled workforce, and commitment to the Second Amendment make Tennessee an ideal location for firearms manufacturing. We welcome Smith & Wesson to The Volunteer State and are proud this U.S.-based brand has chosen to relocate from Massachusetts. Thanks for your significant investment in Blount County and for creating 750 new jobs," Gov Bill Lee said.

Earlier this year, the announcement was made that another gun maker, Troy Industries, relocated to Clarksville.

Tennessee is home to more than 20 small arms and ammunition manufacturers. State officials said Tennessee is the top in the nation when it comes to employment in the small arms and ammunition sector, with employment increasing by 54% over the last five years.

COVID-19’s latest bizarre side effect: ‘Restless anal syndrome’

The latest COVID-19 symptom is about butts — but it’s no joke.

A newly published medical report by doctors in Japan has revealed a mysterious condition associated with the disease called “restless anal syndrome.” Its name is likened to the more commonly discussed restless legs syndrome (RLS) and describes exactly one 77-year-old patient’s afflictions.

The man had only recently checked out of the Tokyo Medical University Hospital following a 21-day stay while ill with COVID-19. But despite having fully recovered from the virus, he returned to report uncomfortable new symptoms.

He told physicians that he began suffering “deep anal discomfort” in the area between his anus and genitals, prompting him with the “essential urge to move” his bowels — which gave him no relief, according to their paper, available to read via “BMC Infectious Diseases.”

As days passed, the patient observed that physical activity seemed to relieve his stressed anus, while lying low only increased his discomfort, which also spiked during the evening hours.

A colonoscopy showed the man had internal hemorrhoids, but that didn’t explain his spasms. His nervous system also appeared to be in working order.

Recovered COVID-19 patients experience array of neurological issues: report

COVID-19 is known for causing a shock wave of side effects, some of which are neurological, including loss of taste and smell, brain fog and numbness.

That’s when doctors reckoned his awkward condition must be neurological, noting that his symptoms had manifested similar to RLS, which has been detected in at least two other recovered COVID-19 patients.

The connection between the disease and RLS is not yet understood, said report author Dr. Itaru Nakamura. Nakamura’s patient, however, may be the first documented case of restless anal syndrome associated with COVID-19, he wrote.

Restless legs syndrome is said to occur in at least 3 million Americans, and its symptoms may occur elsewhere on the body, such as the arms or even the face. Some experts believe the condition is vastly underreported, as the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation estimates that 7% to 8% in the US are living with some form of RLS.

Nakamura prescribed the man a daily regimen of the sedative clonazepam (Klonopin) to help relax his anal muscles, and he has continued to improve after 10 months of treatment, according to the report.

The court accused him of having carried out this abuse “because of the sexual orientation” of the young women. The three victims affirmed this: According to them, the man from Bourg-de-Péage claimed that “a woman has to date a man and that this [homosexuality, editor’s note] is not done among Muslims. A tendency towards homophobia that was shown in prison, but which Samy M. has since denied.The reaction of the three victims, sitting in the front row and facing the horror of what they have experienced, shows that they were not dealing with a friendly, concerned older brother. The three young women are pale, one is trembling, the second has breathing problems. The third, who is in the middle of a panic attack, has to be treated by the fire brigade. Despite the mask, you can see the scars on her cheeks that will disfigure her for life.

“The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) has initiated a command investigation regarding LCpl Hunter Clark’s attendance at the event last weekend to determine if any DoD policies were violated,” said Capt. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Thursday morning said the Senate will pass a stopgap funding bill to avoid a shutdown.

The Senate Republicans have blocked Schumer’s attempt to raise the debt ceiling twice in one week.

Government funding expires at 11:59:59 pm et Thursday.

Speaking from the senate floor, McConnell said the stopgap bill will be passed “without the poison pill of a debt limit increase.”

The Senate voted 65-35 to pass a stopgap bill to avert a shutdown.  The stopgap bill funds the government until December 3 and does not raise the debt ceiling.

Every president of the United States is faced with critical decisions. Nominating individuals to serve in government is among the most consequential. In order to be confirmed and to be effective, nominees must gain the trust of the American people. President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) violates that trust. 

When it comes to impacting policies related to our public lands, the BLM director has wide authority. The director has capacity to make unilateral decisions about how lands are used and managed. The BLM director also leads several thousand employees, including law enforcement officers, many of whom have given years of dedicated service to the Bureau.

For 28 years, I was one such public servant. I served as a federal law enforcement officer with USDA Forest Service as a Special Agent criminal investigator. Before that, I served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War. I know firsthand the importance of the rule of law. Respect for the law must permeate at all ranks within an organization—especially at the top.

Earlier this year, President Biden nominated Tracy Stone-Manning to be director of the BLM and her contentious nomination now awaits a confirmation vote in the Senate. Senators should carefully consider Stone-Manning’s history of criminal behavior and disregard for the laws of our country before casting their votes.

Throughout her adult life, Tracy Stone-Manning has shown contempt for law enforcement and she colluded with dangerous extremists. 

It is now widely known that Stone-Manning collaborated with a group of eco-terrorists who spiked trees in the Post Office Timber Sale in Idaho during the spring of 1989. Tree-spiking is a dangerous and illegal practice of hammering a piece of metal into the trunk of a tree in order to sabotage a logger’s blade and safety.  She edited, typed and mailed a threatening letter to the Forest Service on behalf of the tree-spikers. I feel an obligation to come forward because I was the agent charged with investigating this crime and Stone-Manning’s involvement.

In 1993, Stone-Manning received a target letter from a federal grand jury after the girlfriend of one of the suspects came forward to the FBI and identified those involved in the crime. Soon after Stone-Manning discovered she could be charged with a crime, she hired an attorney, negotiated a deal with the federal prosecutor, and received immunity for her testimony against her friends. But just because she cut a deal, does not mean she didn’t violate federal felony laws. In this case, she violated several.

By typing the threatening letter to the Forest Service, she was aiding and abetting those who committed an offense against the United States. When she hid her knowledge of the crime for three years and was intentionally obstructive while under investigation, she made herself an accessory after the fact. 

By not immediately reporting the crime or divulging what she knew about who was involved, she concealed a felony. When she planned to mail the threatening letter to the Forest Service she involved herself in a conspiracy against the United States. It was also a felony to send the letter through the U.S. Postal Service.

The Senate should review the records of the grand jury investigation into these crimes. Senators should also review the immunity agreement to determine what charges Stone-Manning faced.

Some of Stone-Manning’s defenders claim that she should be forgiven for actions she took decades ago. Those same folks overlook the most recent crime Stone-Manning committed by willfully falsifying, concealing, and covering up her past involvement in these crimes when questioned by the Senate. 

Lying to the United States Senate is a crime. If she is comfortable lying to the federal government—and the American people—under penalty of perjury, how can we trust her to lead a powerful bureaucracy?

Throughout her adult life, Tracy Stone-Manning has consistently demonstrated her disregard for the laws of our country—laws designed to protect each and every one of us. She has shown contempt for law enforcement and she colluded with dangerous extremists. 

Senators should consider the implications of confirming someone who has violated several federal laws. The employees at the Bureau of Land Management deserve honest leadership. The American people should have confidence that the individual in charge of this agency will follow the law, even when the law may be at odds with personal convictions. Tracy Stone-Manning is not that individual.

Panama's foreign minister: Another 60,000 Haitian migrants are headed for the border

We’ve all seen the video of thousands of Haitian migrants camping out under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas but mostly what we’ve heard about that is that some border patrol agents were whipping migrants. That story wasn’t true but the false story blaming the border patrol officials on horseback conveniently drowned out the real story. The scenes of 15,000 migrants under a bridge in Del Rio were not the culmination of Biden’s border crisis, they were just a primer of the next stage of the crisis.

According to Panama’s Foreign Minister, Erika Mouynes, she warned the administration and anyone else who would listen that this surge was coming. Now she’s warning that was just the beginning. Mouynes told Axios there are as many as 60,000 more Haitian migrants currently making their way north to the US border:

More than 85,000 migrants have passed through Panama since January — most of them Haitians.

• Roughly 20,000 to 25,000 Haitians have already made the trek to the U.S.-Mexico border, with most being allowed to enter the United States.

• Beyond those already admitted or deported back to Haiti, another 60,000 are most likely still on their way north, the minister said.

Remember when caravans of a few thousand people were news? Now we have a stream of 60,000, mostly Haitians, on their way. Mouynes told Axios that another 27,000 migrants are expected to try to cross through the jungles from Colombia into Panama over the next month. Panama has set up a quota system with both Colombia and Costa Rica to try to keep the flow of immigrants manageable for everyone. Colombia is currently holding back 30,000 migrants and is said to be “frustrated” that Panama is refusing to accept any more right now.

Mouynes said there were high level meetings, including officials from the US, about the surge of Haitian migrants in August but she hopes there will be more follow up meetings to come because the surge is not letting up. “Let’s recognize that they all are heading toward the U.S.,” she said.

Does the Biden administration have any plan for this other than letting most of them into the country without a COVID test? Will Biden himself ever go to the border to see where the crisis is unfolding?

Here’s Mouynes talking about the surge on CNN just a week ago. “What you’re seeing right now in Texas, ten or fourteen thousand, there are many more coming that way,” she said. She goes on to make the point that most of these migrants are coming from Haiti to Brazil which encourages them to come in and then passes them along on their way north. So if we want to control this surge, we probably need to be having a discussion with Brazil.

Finally, Sen. Cruz had a meeting with Mouynes this week and is now trying to sound the alarm. Cruz pinned the problem directly on President Biden. “This is all happening because Joe Biden and Kamala Harris refuse to enforce the law and have essentially said, anyone who wants to come to America, they’re going to resettle them, they’re going to give them benefits, they’re going to let them stay,” Cruz said on Fox News
