Net approval of Kamala Harris turns negative in latest poll

The net approval rating for Vice President Kamala Harris (D) turned negative in a new poll after her unimpressive attempt to improve the immigration crisis at the border.

The latest Morning Consult-Politico poll released Wednesday found that slightly more Americans see Harris unfavorably than those who approve of her job.

Only 45% of registered voters polled said they have a favorable view of Harris, while 47% said they have an unfavorable view of the Democrat, for a negative net rating of 2 percentage points.

President Joe Biden fared much better than his vice president in the poll.

While 45% of registered voters said they have an unfavorable view of Biden, 52% said they have a favorable view of the president, for a positive net rating of 7 percentage points.

In June, the same poll found the disapproval and approval rates for Harris were equal at 46% each.

Harris has wilted under the spotlight after Biden put her in charge of dealing with the increasing crisis at the southern border. Harris faced fierce criticism from the right after she made excuses for not visiting the border, and then she claimed that her visit to the border had been scheduled for a long time.

She has also been hit by criticism from the left after she said in a speech to migrants not to come to the United States. Others have protested against the continuation of deportations under the Biden administration.

The newest poll found that Harris was slightly more favored by males than by females and much more favored by young people than by older people. She also garnered higher support among African-Americans and from those in urban areas.

Americans HATE Kamala Harris: Unfavourability Rating Soars to Record-High

As Americans look on in horror at the President Biden’s sharp cognitive decline, Vice President Kamala Harris’ chances of taking over the top job are now virtually non-existant.

According to a new poll by RealClearPolitics, Harris’ favorability rating is at a record-low.

“Harris’s average favorability rating hovers around 44%, while her unfavorability rating is 46%,” the poll results state.

Beckernews.com reports: Suffolk University Political Research Center Director David Paleologos told the Washington Examiner that Harris was ‘not popular with people older than 45 or those earning less than $100,000 annually.’

“Almost 1 in 5 people who backed Biden last fall did not think highly of Harris or did not have an opinion of her, according to a finding that stood out to Paleologos,” Lin notes.

“That says that either some 2020 Biden voters thought there was a better pick or they’re not convinced that they like her, either for policy reasons or performance reasons,” he said.

Recent polling shows that the trend is not improving for Harris, either.

“After six months in office, polling suggests that more voters disapprove of Vice President Kamala Harris than approve of the job she has done thus far,” Newsweek reported.

“Survey results from Politico/Morning Consult released on Wednesday showed that just 45 percent of respondents held a favorable view of the vice president’s performance,” the report noted. “Meanwhile, 47 percent had an unfavorable view and 5 percent said they had no opinion. The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent and was conducted from July 16 to 18.”

As poorly as a lot of Americans feel about Biden’s performance, there are more Americans who view Harris as being worse for the country. It doesn’t bode well for a White House that is seeing Biden make misstep after misstep.
