The liberal media were making a full-court press in an effort to try to make freshman Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and her loony conspiracy theories the face of the entire Republican Party. ABC and NBC were so focused on that mission Thursday that they put aside the health and safety of the families that relied on them for information. Specifically, they ignored a new government report detailing excessive levels of toxins and heavy metals found in multiple baby food brands.
ABC and NBC failed to tell views about the toxic baby food in both their morning and evening newscasts. Instead, they spent over 12 minutes (12:10) of combined time talking about Greene and trying to suggest her anti-Semitic, kooky, and un-American conspiracy theories represented the majority of the Republican Party.
A false reality.
Breaking down the numbers, ABC spent the most time on Greene with a whopping eight minutes and 15 seconds between their morning and evening newscasts. Four minutes and 22 seconds of that time was split between three different segments during Good Morning America alone. The rest was from a singular report World News Tonight.
For NBC’s part, they dedicated three minutes and 55 seconds between Today and NBC Nightly News. The former provided two minutes and six seconds of that total.
In stark contrast, CBS was the only broadcast network to inform their viewers about the toxic baby food by spending six minutes and 44 seconds on it. A majority of their coverage of the topic was on This Morning, at five minutes and three seconds.
They actually spent slightly less time on Greene, five minutes and four seconds, though they too tried to use her smear the entire GOP.
So, what exactly didn’t ABC and NBC tell their viewers about? Here’s national consumer investigative correspondent Anna Werner during CBS Evening News:
The report says many baby foods have dangerous levels of toxic heavy metals including arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury.
(…)
Investigators said internal documents from four U.S. baby food manufacturers showed toxics metals in baby foods at levels higher than in other products. When compared to government limits for bottled water, the results were up to 91 times the arsenic level, up to 177 times the lead level, and up to 69 times the cadmium level.
The baby food companies showed on-screen were Happy Family, Beech-Nut, Earth’s Best, and Gerber.
Meanwhile, ABC congressional correspondent Rachel Scott touted Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for “declaring that since Republicans won't take action against Greene, the full House would.” And on NBC Nightly News, White House correspondent Kristen Welker echoed Scott. “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasting Republicans for not taking action themselves,” she lauded.
“I remain profoundly concerned about house Republican leadership acceptance of extreme conspiracy theorist,” Pelosi said in a soundbite on NBC. Too bad she and the Democratic caucus watered down a resolution condemning anti-Semitism in 2019 to protect Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) during her social media scandal.
It’s a shame that ABC and NBC were willing to put toxic baby food in the backseat as they accelerated their efforts to divide America further.
ABC and NBC’s disregard for the health and safety of babies to score political points was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Procter & Gamble on ABC and Cadillac on NBC. Their contact information is linked so you can let them know about the biased news they fund.
