Zahra Billoo just had an anti-Semitic melt down.
Billoo is the executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations‘ (CAIR) San Francisco chapter. A few weeks ago, she was appointed to replace another anti-Semitic Islamist, Linda Sarsour, as a board member of the Women’s March.
The outcry was swift and loud. A collective grassroots protest against Billoo resulted in the cancelling of her her appointment. (No sense replacing an anti-Semite with an even bigger anti-Semite, the Women’s March realized.)
Zahra Billoo could have handled it with grace. Instead, she threw a fit, taking to Twitter in the late hours of the night to pound out a 25-tweet thread that bordered on a tantrum.
A few days ago, Billoo was at it again. This time, CAIR leader Zahra Billoo spouted off an even more unhinged tweet thread doubling down on her hatred of Israel.
American Muslim organizations still willing to partner with Zahra Billoo need to think twice about the type of persona they’re associating with. Anti-Semitism veiled as human rights is still anti-Semitism. Considering Billoo’s derailment, we can expect her to become even more unhinged in the days ahead.
Judging by the low number of retweets and engagement on this Twitter thread, it’s clear some people are already distancing themselves from her.
Will CAIR also finally cut ties with Billoo? Or is this CAIR’s official position?
