Google responds to Elon Musk’s accusations of a ‘search ban’ on Trump: ‘We’re working on improvements’ to auto-complete results

Tech giant Google has addressed concerns raised by prominent conservatives regarding its search autocomplete function, particularly its censorship of searches related to the recent attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. The masters of the universe claims they are “working on improvements” including the autocomplete function.

Fortune reports that in response to allegations of election interference and search manipulation, Google has issued a statement addressing the controversy surrounding its autocomplete search results. The debate erupted when many users on X, formerly known as Twitter, including Elon Musk and Donald Trump Jr., posted images demonstrating that Google’s search engine was omitting certain politically sensitive topics from its autocomplete predictions.

The primary point of contention centered around searches related to the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Breitbart News previously reported that users noted that when typing “assassination attempt on” into Google’s search bar, the auto-complete function did not suggest the recent incident involving Trump. Instead, it offered suggestions related to historical figures such as former President Ronald Reagan and musician Bob Marley.

In response to these allegations, a Google spokesperson provided clarification to Fortune magazine. The company stated that no “manual action” was taken on the auto-complete predictions and that they are “working on improvements” to the feature. Regarding the absence of suggestions related to the assassination attempt, Google explained that their systems have “protections against Auto-complete predictions associated with political violence,” which were functioning as intended prior to the recent event.

The spokesperson further elaborated on the “Donald Duck” search highlighted by Musk, acknowledging that “auto-complete is currently not working as intended” for searches related to past presidents and the current vice president. Google assured that they are investigating these anomalies and working on improvements to be implemented soon.

The controversy has sparked a broader discussion about the role of technology companies in information dissemination and their potential influence on political discourse. Critics, including several top GOP figures, accused Google of “gaslighting” and attempting to influence the 2024 presidential election through their search results.

Google emphasized that their autocomplete systems are dynamic and that predictions change based on common and trending queries. The company stated its commitment to ensuring their systems are more up-to-date and responsive to current events while maintaining safeguards against promoting violence.

Sen. John Kennedy Gets Confirmation It Was Not a Space Laser That Hit Trump

On Friday, the FBI confirmed that it was indeed a bullet that struck Donald Trump's ear on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. It was good to have that clarification because we'd heard a lot: that he was actually struck by a piece of shattered glass from the teleprompter (which was intact in the photos) or that he'd staged the whole thing by crushing a capsule of fake blood (which doesn't explain the very real bullet that killed firefighter Corey Comperatore).

The FBI confirmation was also appreciated because earlier in the week, FBI Director Christopher Wray fed conspiracy theories by telling the House Judiciary Committee that "there's some question about whether or not it's a bullet or shrapnel." No there wasn't.

Curiously, Paul Abbate, deputy director of the FBI, told Sen. John Kennedy under questioning that there was never any question that it was a bullet, 100 percent. Kennedy wanted to make make certain:

Glad we could clear that up … even though liberals still don't believe it.

They won't believe it until they see an official medical report.

Of course, they want to downplay the assassination attempt. The image of Trump with his fist in the air is like "free PR" for the Trump campaign.

A shock poll published a couple of weeks ago showed that 34 percent of registered Democrats believed it was "credible" that the whole assassination attempt was staged. Good for Kennedy for nailing this down.

Planned Parenthood, ACLU oppose ban on child marriages

Planned Parenthood and the ACLU opposed a proposed bill by California Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Orange County) that would have banned child marriages, according to a Monday report.

Currently, California is one of four US states that do not place an age limit on marriage or domestic partnerships. Children may marry with the consent of one parent or guardian and a judge. A study cited by Mercury News found that over 9,000 minors between 15 and 17 years old in California were reported to have married in 2022. Eighty-six percent of these marriages were of underage girls to adult men.

AB 2924 sought to repeal the existing law and ban marriages and domestic partnerships for anyone under 18.

“This bill would repeal the authorization for a person under 18 years of age to be issued a marriage license or to establish a domestic partnership, thereby prohibiting a person under 18 years of age from being issued a marriage license or from establishing a domestic partnership,” said the bill.

Planned Parenthood, ACLU: We want ‘bodily autonomy for all people’

But the legislation faced heavy opposition from organizations such as Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California, ACLU California Action, and the National Center for Youth Law.

“We support what we believe are the intentions of the bill, to address the harms of coerced and abusive relationships on young people and protect them from abuse,” the organizations wrote in a letter. “However, we also strongly believe in and support self-determination and bodily autonomy for all people, including young people who are pregnant and/or parenting.”

Petrie-Norris shot back, saying: “Forced child marriage is a practice that strips children of their autonomy, sexual and reproductive freedom, forces them into adulthood prematurely and shields rapists from criminal charges — so I find opponents’ arguments a bit ironic and misplaced — particularly when they have supported the same legislation in other states,” Petrie-Norris said.

Ash Kalra, who heads the California Assembly’s judiciary committee, also opposed the bill in its original form. Kalra supported amendments that would have allowed 16 and 17 year olds to get married through court petitions, which Petrie-Norris said was an unacceptable compromise.

“I have tremendous respect for the lived experience of the survivors and advocates who I was working with on this bill,” she said. “After considering our options for this legislative session, I decided to pause the bill rather than move forward with a compromise proposal that they do not support.”

Massachusetts passes bill erasing 'mother' and 'father' from law

On Tuesday, the Massachusetts Senate unanimously passed a bill that would remove the words “mother” and “father” from certain state laws.

‘Person who gave birth’

Specifically, H.4750 focuses on Chapter 290C of Massachusetts’ General Laws, which relate to children born out of wedlock — or, as they will now be called, “nonmarital children.”

The legislation requires that where the law says “a man and woman” it should instead say “persons,” and any mention of the word “paternity” should be replaced with “parentage.” Instead of the words “his or “her,” the law will now say “their,” and any mention of “mother” will be replaced by the phrase “person who gave birth.” Where the law refers to a child’s “father” it should instead say “other parent.” In place of “mother and father” the law should say “parents.”

Other provisions of the bill require that the word “himself” be changed to “themselves,” and “he” changed to “the person.” Instead of “putative father,” the law should now say “alleged genetic parent.”

The portion of state law that deals with correcting birth certificates will also be amended to state that birth records should include information about the “parentage” of the child and not the “father” of the child.

The changes are significant because they are likely to also strike the words “mother” and “father” from the forms and birth records mentioned in the law. For example, parents of a child born out of wedlock often fill out a form to establish the paternity of the father. Once H.4750 is signed into law, however, parents will fill out a form to establish “parentage” which will likely not contain references to the child’s “mother” or “father.”

Similarly, birth certificates are also expected to eventually replace the words “mother” and “father” with “person who gave birth” and “other parent.”

A bill for ‘LGBTQ+ equality’

H.4750, also referred to as the Massachusetts Parentage Act, aims to be more “inclusive” by excluding mothers and fathers for gender ideology.

“Let’s go, Massachusetts!” said Governor Maura Healy in favor of the bill. “We’ve been proud to be a national leader and trailblazer when it comes to LGBTQ+ equality, but we’ve got some catching up to do. Let’s pass the Massachusetts Parentage Act to make sure every family has the legal protections they need and deserve.”

Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh Killed by Airborne Guided Projectile in Tehran — This Comes Less Than 24 Hours After Israel Eliminated Top Hezbollah Military Commander

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in a strike on his residence in Tehran.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed after their residence was hit in Tehran.

Press TV made the announcement tonight.

Haniyeh eliminated.

“Haniyeh was the terrorist face of Hamas. The guy hobnobbing with the Ayatollahs and holding court in luxury hotels in Qatar and Turkey. Btw, he skimmed millions $ off smuggling goods into Gaza while the people suffered in poverty. Even the IRGC couldn’t protect him,” Rep. Waltz said.

Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed in the strike.

The Tehren Times reported:

Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were martyred after their residence was targeted in Tehran, according to a statement released by the IRGC.

“With condolences to the heroic nation of Palestine and the Islamic nation and the combatants of the Resistance Front and the noble nation of Iran, this morning (Wednesday) the residence of Mr. Dr. Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of the Islamic Resistance of Hamas, was hit in Tehran, and following this incident, he and one of his bodyguards were martyred,” the statement reads.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.

Haniyeh famously condemned the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

Haniyeh was filmed at the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president earlier in the day.

This strike on Haniyeh came less than 24 hours after Israel eliminated the military commander of Hezbollah in Lebanon.

UPDATE: (7 AM CT) The Iranian regime says Haniyeh as killed by an airborne guided projectile that hit the residence where he was staying.

Gina Carano Delivers Knock-Out Punch to Disney, They Just Don't Know It's Over Yet

Former MMA fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano is no stranger to fighting.

The budding movie star successfully translated a solid stint in the octagon to an action-packed acting career that included the roles Angel Dust in bombastic action flick “Deadpool” and the tough-as-nail sheriff Cara Dune in the initially-lauded Disney+ “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian.”

Alas, despite “The Mandalorian” debuting to rave reviews for about two seasons, many of the show’s most ardent fans all admit that the more recent seasons and spinoffs of the show have been … lackluster, to say the least.

Perhaps coincidentally, the general decline of “The Mandalorian” lined up rather neatly with Carano’s unceremonious ouster from the show in 2021. That firing was based on horribly misconstrued and demonized social media posts.

Well, as she is wont to do, Carano came out fighting against the House of Mouse’s firing of her.Equipped with aid from tech mogul Elon Musk, Carano launched a scathing lawsuit against her former employers at Disney and Lucasfilm in February:
The lawsuit effectively alleges wrongful termination and sex discrimination, but Disney — perhaps unsurprisingly — sought to immediately get the suit thrown out.

Disney blasted Carano’s suit in April, claiming that Carano’s offending social media posts “grotesquely trivialized” the Holocaust. Disney also claimed Carano’s “social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

(There was no such abhorrent or unacceptable rhetoric in the post in question.)

Well, good news for Carano: Disney’s army of high-priced lawyers failed to get that suit thrown out.

As covered by multiple outlets, Carano’s lawsuit is officially moving forward despite the best protests from Disney’s legal team.

According to the New York Post, U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett — who was appointed by President Joe Biden, for whatever that’s worth — flat out rejected Disney’s claims as to why Carano’s suit should be tossed.

Forbes writer Paul Tassi — a known left-leaning pundit — expressed shock from the outset of the title of his article (emphasis added): “Gina Carano’s ‘Mandalorian’ Firing Lawsuit Is Actually Moving Forward”

But while Tassi and his ilk may be surprised that Disney’s dismissal request was ignored, there’s a non-zero chance that Carano was also stunned that this was moving forward.

And that’s according to Carano’s self-reported reaction to the news that Garnett was tossing out Disney’s request to dismiss the suit.

“I am moved to tears,” Carano posted, before noting how grateful she was for this opportunity.

And look, there’s a very good chance that this is as far as the lawsuit will go (Carano wants to return to “The Mandalorian” in her role as Cara Dune) given Disney’s extensive experience in lawfare.

But there will still be a discovery phase, and that alone could be a crippling blow for Disney.

It’s no secret that Disney is a far-left ideologue of an organization in 2024. Having the rotten guts of that far-left ideology exposed and strewn across for all to see in a very public forum?

That could be a major problem for Disney and Lucasfilm in a very close galaxy, in a time not too far away.
