And one NFL owner is finding that out the hard way.
The owner of the San Francisco 49ers has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution.
The New York Post provided the full scoop on York’s arrest and what charges he faces:
San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution in Ohio over the weekend, the California Post confirmed.
York pleaded no contest on Monday after the state of Ohio amended the one count of engaging in prostitution to a disorderly conduct charge.
The 46-year-old from Youngstown, Ohio was arrested Sunday in East Palestine, Ohio and booked into Columbiana County Jail. He was also convicted of “possessing criminal tools.”
A judge sentenced York to one day in jail per each count, which will be served concurrently.
York was named CEO of the franchise in 2008.
In 2023, York was sued for insider trading related to his role on the board of Chegg, a Santa Clara-based so-called “homework help” company that’s been accused of enabling cheating.
The court documents reportedly allege that York and his colleagues at the online educational support company sold off their Chegg stock at the top of the market without informing investors about the extent to which it provided students with real-time answers to their exams.

This isn’t the first time an NFL owner has been caught up in engaging in prostitution

According to documents released by the Palm Beach State Attorney’s Office on Monday, it was the second visit by Kraft to the parlor in less than 24 hours.
The documents say Kraft arrived at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in a chauffeured 2015 blue Bentley at 11 a.m. on Jan. 20. He was videotaped receiving oral and manual sex from a woman at the spa in Jupiter. Officials say he gave her a $100 bill and another bill before leaving at 11:15 a.m.
The 77-year-old Kraft, who was also seen soliciting prostitution on video surveillance just 17 hours earlier on Jan. 19, was officially charged with two misdemeanor counts of first-degree solicitation, Palm Beach State Attorney Dave Aronberg announced Monday.
