Entitled Italian Staff to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni Goes on Strike Demanding Right To Work From Home TWICE A WEEK

One day a week working from home is not enough for them.

The nefarious consequences of the governmental reaction to the COVID pandemic are still being felt around the world.

Today (11), in Italy, reports arise of Giorgia Meloni’s staff going on strike because they must cut down on the number of days they are allowed to work from home.

WHAT? Meloni’s crazy facial expressions

The Telegraph reported:

“Staff at the secretariat of the prime minister, which employs 3,000 people, have been told that they can only work from home once a week, rather than the two they are allowed.

Striking employees argue that overcrowded offices, crumbling buildings, pest infestations and Rome’s traffic all make the trip to work difficult.”

In all fairness, traffic in Italy is really bad – but the entitlement of these public-sector elite workers is astonishing.

“Government employees also say that they work in overcrowded, poorly maintained offices which are infested with pests. ‘Offices are overcrowded, there are problems with air conditioning, there’s poor air quality, infiltration of water, persistent noise in open space areas, inadequate lighting and poor cleaning services’, said a statement from the USB, the union behind the strike.

Some offices are ‘infested with Asian hornets and pigeons – there are pigeon carcasses and pigeon droppings (in the workplace)’.”

Meloni’s staff wants to work from home

Financial Times reported:

“Some 3,500 long-term professional, administrative and clerical staff work for the Italian prime minister’s secretariat, which is dispersed across some 20 buildings in Rome, including historic palazzos dating back to the 16th century.

[…] In the controversial April directive, Carlo Deodato, Meloni’s administrative chief, said employees of the prime minister’s secretariat need to be in the office more because of ‘the complexity of the tasks’ they carried out.

Governing Italy ‘requires a management model capable of balancing the need for flexibility and staff wellbeing with the necessity of ensuring a timely response to institutional priorities’, the directive, seen by the FT, said.”
