‘Rule, Britannia, Britannia rule the waves’ was once the national chant – but not anymore.
While the conflict in Iran is dominating the news cycle, in Europe, the Globalists are hard at work trying to enforce their myriads of sanctions against Russia, notably against what is called its ‘Shadow Fleet’.
When it comes to the United Kingdom, its failing Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is ‘no Winston Churchill’, according to Donald J. Trump, has threatened to seize ‘Shadow Fleet’ tankers passing in their territorial waters.
Apparently, Starmer forgot that Moscow does get a say in the matter, so it arose today that a Russian warship has escorted sanctioned vessels through the English Channel.
The Times reported:
“The Russian frigate Admiral Grigorovich accompanied two sanctioned oil tankers as they passed along the south coast of England on Wednesday morning, the Telegraph reported.
The warship, a 3,620-tonne frigate, was sandwiched between the two tankers, Universal and Enigma, as they sailed towards Portsmouth shortly after 9am.”
“Russia’s shadow fleet consists of about 700 vessels, carrying around 40 percent of all Russian oil exports. The UK has sanctioned 544 Russian shadow fleet vessels to date.
The flotilla’s passage is in direct defiance of Starmer’s warning that vessels in Moscow’s shadow fleet could be boarded by British special forces if vessels carried oil destined to fund the invasion of Ukraine.”
The Telegraph reported:
“Last month, Sir Keir gave special forces the authority to capture the armada of rusted ships illegally ferrying oil to support Russia’s war in Ukraine, saying he would hit the shadow fleet ‘even harder’ if they sailed through British waters. However, Britain is yet to seize a single Russian vessel.
The Prime Minister has repeatedly faced criticism regarding the state of the Royal Navy and Britain’s Armed Forces. After an Iranian-made drone hit RAF Akrotiri, HMS Dragon, Britain’s only deployable destroyer, was sent to the Middle East, but took three weeks to arrive and has already had to return to port as it suffers water supply issues.
[…] Donald Trump, the US president, has previously described the Navy’s two aircraft carriers as ‘toys’ while his defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, mocked Britain’s ‘big, bad Royal Navy’.
The US first stormed a Russian-sanctioned oil tanker in January, prompting pledges from Western nations to seize further ships. While the French navy has intercepted some tankers in the Mediterranean, dozens of Russian vessels are believed to have passed through the Channel since Sir Keir’s threat.”
