It’s being reported now that Mayor Karen Bass lied about not having a report altered to cover up her failures in the devastating Palisades fire..

BREAKING: Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass allegedly had officials alter an after-action report on the Palisades fire to downplay failures by the city and the Los Angeles Fire Department in combating the catastrophic blaze.
Sources close to Bass say she lied when she claimed she had no role in altering the report
L.A. Fire Chief Kristin Crowley had warned Bass prior to the fire that the $17+ million she cut from the department’s budget “severely limited the department’s capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires,” according to a previously released memo.
The L.A. Times notes that the most significant changes to the report involved a failure not to fully staff up and pre-deploy all available engines ahead of dangerously high winds.

I’m not shocked at all, but will she be held accountable by her media and voters? She deserves jail, but I know that will never happen.
