Leftist Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has always been a font of controversy — he was a member of the Nation of Islam and defended its antisemitic leader, Louis Farrakhan, he’s suggested that U.S. foreign policy is overly influenced by Israel, he’s faced allegations of domestic abuse, he compared the George W. Bush Administration to the Nazis, and — wait for it — he pushed Obama to be more progressive. Seriously.
Here’s Keith crowing about his “fast” response:
Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz had thoughts:

SOMALI STEAL: How They Did It: Former Fed Prosecutor Reveals How 'Shockingly Easy' It Was to Pull Off MN Fraud Scam
Cruz was far from alone in mocking the far-left AG. While Ellison was in charge, taxpayer money flowed out like water to illegitimate enterprises. Former sportscaster and rumored Senate candidate in Minnesota Michele Tafoya said simply, “Seriously?”
Steve Guest, whose X profile describes himself as a “conservative communicator,” had this to say:
Our friends at our sister site Townhall chimed in as well. "You’re kidding right?" TH columnist Dustin Grage posted on X. "They literally created a new term called ‘fraud tourism’ to describe how easy it was to defraud Minnesota taxpayers."
Ellison’s office issued a mealy-mouthed, word salad statement to Fox News Digital as the criticism poured in, but I won’t bother to quote it, because the fact remains that this all happened when he and Walz were manning the helm. I give much more credence to former federal prosecutor Joe Teirab’s reaction:
"Tim Walz was responsible for putting into place the commissioners of the different departments who are allowing all this money to go out, and then you had Keith Ellison, who not only should have done something about stopping the fraud once he had a sense that things were happening, he should have started to investigate it," Teirab told Fox News Digital in an interview earlier this month.
What went down in Minnesota is emblematic of Democrat/progressive failures nationwide. Loudmouths like Keith Ellison have no reason to tout their successes — he and Jazz Hands Walz should be hiding in the closet now that the unbelievable extent of their failures has become clear.
“Dereliction of duty” is perhaps too kind a phrase.
