CCP-tied billionaire builds shadow network of American SCHOOLS right under our noses: Where’s the OUTRAGE?

For years, Americans have worried about TikTok, farmland buys, and shadowy CCP-tied ventures creeping into everything from agriculture to AI. Even Temu has us looking at it sideways.

After all that (righteous) suspicion, then, it’s mind-boggling that somehow a story that should’ve lit Congress UP like a Christmas tree has barely made a flicker. Because it’s doozy.

See, a Chinese Communist Party–connected billionaire has quietly acquired 240 brick-and-mortar private schools across the United States. Yeah, that’s what I said. Acquired. Purchased. Is operating. Is the boss of. And this ChiCom-connected fellow has had his nose in American education before and got caught.

At the independent and somewhat politically nebulous news site Unherd, writer David Rose has pulled the whole disturbing picture into focus. According to Rose’s review of filings and acquisition records, the man behind the deals is Hu Zuliu — better known to the finance world as Fred Hu, or “Red Fred.” He’s a politically wired investor with well-established ties to CCP circles and global capital networks, as Unherd points out.

Rose outlines that Hu and his Primavera Capital have “political and financial ties” to the CPP and that they aren’t alone among Chinese investors buying up American education. “The purchases conform to a deliberate strategy to spread Chinese ideology and influence into Western classrooms,” Rose writes. “Even Donald Trump’s former school, the New York Military Academy, [is] now under Chinese ownership.”

Hu didn’t just buy a product, he bought a national footprint. Hundreds of independent campuses spread across America, handed to a figure already busted peddling foreign influence through tutoring and a PENTAGON contract.

It’s literally a RED Flag, y’all. A “Red Fred” flag.

You see, earlier reporting from The Daily Caller exposed that a venture capital firm founded by Hu was being paid by the Pentagon for “tutoring services” through educational subsidiaries, despite its connections to the Chinese Communist Party. That 2024 story made the stakes clear: Washington had allowed a Beijing-linked operator to slip into defense-adjacent contracting via education fronts.

And just to be clear about Hu, try out this little tidbit:

Hu appears in photos on the Hunan CPPCC’s website and on Chinese state-run media social media accounts wearing the CPPCC’s distinctive red, clip-on delegate’s badge at the organization’s meetings and during interviews.

Now Rose reveals that the same orbit of companies quietly stitched together nearly two hundred and forty U.S. private school campuses. Not online programs. Not shell nonprofits. Real buildings, real campuses, real kids, dozens of states.

So … where’s the dang outrage? Where are the politicians? Where are conservative websites and right-wing media? So far it’s just us and the crickets.

Congress critters normally jump on public school controversies and university scandals. They leap into action over foreign donations. Are they avoiding it because these are private schools? A political third rail? Maybe – but when a CCP-linked billionaire is making another foray into the American education system that he already tried to infiltrate – well call me old-fashioned but I feel like that’s something you might oughta take a look at.

And here’s the kicker: this isn’t a boutique purchase or some niche chain. It’s a full-blown school empire, a shadow education network stitched together across America — right under our noses.

So once again, a major foreign-influence story sits in broad daylight, with only a handful of folks connecting the dots. Meanwhile, the shady Beijing billionaire now controls a school network touching more American communities than most charter chains.

If that doesn’t warrant attention, well just what exactly does?
