Drone sightings forced Denmark and Norway to temporarily close their busiest airports on Monday evening.
Operations at Copenhagen and Oslo airports halted for several hours in response.
According to CNN, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said the drone activity appeared to be an attempt “to disrupt and create unrest.”
All take-offs and landings at Copenhagen were halted for nearly four hours.
Meanwhile, the airspace at Oslo Airport was shut down for about three hours.
Several X users shared footage of the unidentified drones.

“Norwegian state media released video of the large, unidentified drones that shut down Copenhagen and Oslo airports Monday night. The footage shows what forced 50+ flight diversions across the Nordic region during nearly 4 hours of chaos,” Mario Nawfal wrote.
CNN shared further details:
The shutdowns at the Nordic region’s busiest airports left tens of thousands of passengers stranded.
“What we saw last night is the most serious attack on Danish critical infrastructure to date,” Frederiksen said in a statement sent to media on Tuesday.
“We are obviously not ruling out any options in relation to who is behind it. And it is clear that this fits in with the developments we have observed recently with other drone attacks, violations of airspace, and hacker attacks on European airports,” she said.
In comments to public broadcaster DR, Frederiksen noted recent suspected Russian drone incursions into Polish and Romanian airspace, as well as Estonia reporting that Russian fighter jets had entered its airspace on Friday.
Earlier this month, Polish officials said its military shot down Russian drones that violated its airspace during an attack in western Ukraine.
Reporters asked officials if the drones were of Russian origin.
BBC noted:
Asked by reporters on Monday if the drones were of Russian origin, Deputy Police Inspector Jakob Hansen said he could not confirm or deny this.
EU and Nato leaders have not made a public attribution.
In Tuesday's press conference, Danish police said there was not anything that "immediately links" the drone incidents in Norway and Denmark with each other.
A spokesperson for Copenhagen Airport confirmed that the airspace over the airport was closed at around around 20:30 local time (18:30 GMT) on Monday due to unidentified drones.
"No aircraft can take off or land at the airport, and as a result, several flights are being diverted to other airports," they said in a statement.
