It’s being reported by the Israeli media that President Trump wants to exhaust negotiations with Iran before entering the war to destroy the Fordow nuclear facility.

According to Raylan Givens, Kan 11 reports that Trump has communicated this to Israel:

 
He’s also reporting a different Israeli news outlet as saying that both Vance and Witkoff are pushing a last minute deal, which is why Trump continues to delay:

C14 News: President Trump has decided in principle to join the campaign against Iran – but two very senior White House officials are trying to change his mind. Vice President J.D. Vance and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff are trying to advance a last-minute deal, in which Iran would dismantle its nuclear assets by agreement.

Witkoff continues to hold talks with the Iranians even now. Still, Trump wants an agreement in which the Fordow facility would be destroyed by accord – something that it is challenging to see Khamenei agreeing to.

In internal discussions, Trump became convinced that leaving the facility in Fordow would allow the Iranians to produce the bomb core in a short time, even in the current situation.

Add this to President Trump’s announcement of a new two-week window, and it sounds like this reporting is accurate.
