Israel launched large-scale airstrikes against Iran on Friday in an attempt to destroy its nuclear program and kill its military leaders.

Iran launches missiles toward Israel in response to strikes
Iran has just gone ahead with a large-scale missile launch attacking Israel, the IDF says.
"The IDF identified that missiles were recently launched from Iran towards the territory of the State of Israel," the military said in a statement. "The defense systems are working to intercept the threat."
Israelis have been told to get to shelter and remain there until further notice.
Some Iranian missiles make it through Israeli defenses
NICOSIA, Cyprus -- Some ballistic missiles launched by Iran have broken through Israel's Iron Dome, The Post has learned.
Five to seven areas in both Tel Aviv and the city of Ramat Gan, to the east of Tel Aviv, took either a direct hit or were affected by shrapnel.
Israeli sources estimate that around 100 missiles were launched by Iran. It's unclear exactly how many were intercepted.
Ayatollah: Israel 'won't be able to escape unscathed'
Shortly before this round of missile launches by Iran, the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khameni, addressed the nation on television.
"The armed forces will respond powerfully and bring ruin upon the despicable Zionist regime," he's quoted as saying.
"The Zionist regime won't be able to escape unscathed from this crime. The Iranian nation can be certain that every effort will be made in this regard."
Smoke rises over central Tel Aviv
There appears to have been an impact of some kind in central Tel Aviv.
It's unclear if it is from an Iranian missile that made it through Israel's defenses or if it is from the impact of Israel's missile defenses intercepting a projectile.
Tel Aviv residents given 90 seconds to seek shelter
About five minutes ago, Israel's Home Front Command sent a message to those in and around Tel Aviv, informing them they had a minute and a half to find the nearest shelter before missiles from Iran arrived.
