Bratty ex-cheerleader removes barrier, drives into cop because she’s afraid she’ll miss work: ‘I gotta go’

She’ll have nothing to cheer about behind bars.

An entitled ex-college sorority girl and cheerleader is facing assault charges after hitting a Maryland cop with her car and driving into a crowded street fair because she had to get to work — with the bratty encounter caught on bodycam video.

Kai DeBerry-Bostick, a 28-year-old graduate of Bowie State University and a member of the school’s Zeta Delta sorority, pulled off the four-wheeled tantrum on Saturday morning in Laurel — ripping down police tape and motoring into the crowded festival despite the cop’s orders.

The unidentified cop patiently offers to call the cheerleader a cab, but she refuses, telling him that she works in Virginia, and gets out of her car while ignoring the lawman’s orders.

“You cannot move this,” the officer tells her.

“I have to sir,” she says, before screaming, “I got to go to work? What do you want me to do?”

“You cannot get out,” the cop says. “I can’t help you with that. Please do not disturb this area.”

“I might have to,” DeBerry-Bostick responds, and rips down the yellow police tape blocking the road. She then pulls on to Main Street, where booths can be seen lined up along the street as locals mingle — as the oblivious driver comes within 2 feet of a man pushing a stroller.

“Stop! Stop your car!” the officer yells, as people at the street festival are heard screaming.

The ex-college student is finally pulled out of the car and handcuffed on the pavement, video shows. Police said she was later charged with assault and was being held at the town lockup.

Police finally catch up to Kai DeBerry-Bostick and charge her with assault for hitting a cop with her car in Maryland.

Laurel police said the officer suffered minor injuries but no one else was hurt.

According to the Bowie State University website, DeBerry-Bostick was a Bulldog cheerleader at the school and an honor student who graduated in 2021, and later got a shout-out from her sorority after landing a job with a Maryland tax services company.

“Quick action by Lauren Police,” the department wrote on the Facebook post. “Thanks to their rapid response, no festival-goers were harmed. However, during the incident one of our officers did sustain minor injuries after being struck by the vehicle.”

However, a parade planned as part of the festival had to be scrapped on Saturday after a propane explosion at one booth injured a vendor and shut down part of Main Street, cops said on X.
