It’s being reported that a man has now been arrested in the arson attack on the Pennsylvania Governor and his family that happened last night while they were sleeping.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an arson at the governor’s residence overnight, which left the building with a “significant amount of damage.”
Colonel Christopher Paris, state police commissioner, said at a Sunday news conference Cody Balmer of Harrisburg had been arrested.
Balmer hasn’t been charged yet, but potential charges will include attempted murder, terrorism, aggravated arson, aggravated assault against an enumerated person, officials said at a Sunday news conference.
The suspect allegedly came over a fence around the residence before setting the fire. The attack was “targeted” but a specific motive is still unknown, Gov. Josh Shapiro said at the conference.
The governor emphasized his refusal to be “deterred” in his work and noted that he and his family had celebrated the first night of Passover earlier that evening before the fire.
“If he was trying to terrorize our family, our friends, the Jewish community, who joined us for a Passover Seder in that room last night, hear me on this: we celebrated our faith last night, proudly and in a few hours, we will celebrate our second Seder of Passover,” he said. “Again, proudly, no one will deter me or my family, or any Pennsylvanian from celebrating their faith openly and proudly.”
Shapiro said in a post on X that he and his family “woke up to bangs on the door from the Pennsylvania State Police after an arsonist set fire to the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg.”
He and his family were safely evacuated from the home by state police and no one was injured, he added. Another family in the house was also safely evacuated, Shapiro said Sunday afternoon.
Some are suggesting that, based on his social media, he’s not MAGA, but he also wasn’t a Joe Biden supporter. What’s left? Many things to be sure, but is it a coincidence that the first night of Passover was last night and that Josh Shapiro is Jewish? I don’t know, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
