8 people arrested in Mobile, tied to Tren de Aragua now pending deportation: FBI

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Six suspected members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua and two associates are now in custody in the midst of the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration, targeting suspected foreign gang members in the U.S.

Thursday, the FBI Mobile division held a press conference regarding recent arrests.

Investigators say six men named Jose Ramon Rivera-Garcia, Alejandro Jose Gomez Rivera, Jose Antonio Garcia Garcia, Jesus Alberto Queva-Vasquez, Keiber Jose Maiz-Martinez and Kendry Alexander Queva Vasquez are all suspected to be members of Tren de Aragua.

Two females, Franyelis Cardenas Mendez and Auvelis Carolina Paz Astudillo, were also arrested and are suspected of being associates of the gang.

Investigators with the FBI said they had multiple leads in the case, however, the main lead stemmed from an arrest made a month ago. The person arrested was a brother to one of the men and investigators said they were able to connect the dots to his siblings being in the gang.

According to investigators, the six men had tattoos that indicate they are in Tren de Aragua and all lived in Mobile, mostly in the same house.

Assistant Special Agent of the Mobile Division Parker Still says there could be more arrests across the state.

“No lead is going to go unturned here, as you can see, all the partner agencies are here. We are going to put all of our resources together to determine if there are others in the state of Alabama. We will continue to investigate those individuals,” Still said.

The eight are now pending deportation.
