Alarming new allegations have emerged regarding the billions of dollars worth of American taxpayer-funded weapons that have been sent to Ukraine.
During former President Joe Biden’s administration, the government sent vast shipments of U.S.-supplied weapons to Ukraine to supposedly help the European nation fight its war with Russia.
However, reports now suggest that up to a staggering fifty percent of the weapons sent to Ukraine were secretly resold to America’s enemies.
The shocking allegations were made during the latest episode of Tucker Carlson’s show.
Carlson was interviewing Lt. Col. Daniel Davis, a retired United States Army officer who was awarded a Bronze Star for valor in Afghanistan.
The two discussed the U.S. aid that has been sent to Ukraine and revealed that “half” of the weapons are now in the hands of Mexican drug cartels and other criminal organizations.
Carlson asserted that the information they revealed is “fact” and “not speculation.”
The black market arms trade in Ukraine during the war has long been documented, including in mainstream media sources.
However, Carlson and his guest Col. Davis revealed that many weapons have made it into the hands of Mexican drug cartels positioned along America’s Southern Border.
Carlson and Davis explained that Ukrainian military officials are skimming off the U.S.-supplied weapons.
Those officials are then selling the weapons to the cartels
“They sell weapons to drug cartels… the fact is that the Ukrainian military sells a huge percentage, up to half of the weapons we send them,” Carlson said.
“And this is not my guess.
“This is a fact. Not speculation.
“They sell it, and a lot of it ends up with drug cartels on our border.
“So this is a crime,” Carlson noted.
Carlson also argued that the CIA is facilitating the operation.
WATCH:
In 2023, the Pentagon’s Office of Defense Cooperation-Kyiv published a report after investigating how the U.S. aid was being used by the Ukrainian government.
After conducting an investigation, the Pentagon admitted that it “was unable to conduct required [end-use monitoring] of military equipment that the United States provided to Ukraine in FY 2022.”
“The inability of DoD personnel to visit areas where equipment provided to Ukraine was being used or stored significantly hampered ODC-Kyiv’s ability to execute” the monitoring, the report stated.
Reports have since shown that the lack of monitoring and tracking situation has grown even worse since then.
Additionally, a June 2024 study by Harvard said it was “highly likely that some weapons will go missing over the course of the conflict.”
Harvard admitted it would be hard to prove the extent to which illicit weapons were being sold.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that his country received less than half of the huge taxpayer-funded aid payments sent by U.S. Congress
As Slay News reported last week, Zelensky admitted in a recent interview that his country has only received around $75 billion of the nearly $200B in foreign aid that the United States has allocated to Ukraine since the war with Russia began.
According to UkraineOversight.gov, as of September 30, 2024, the U.S. had committed nearly $183 billion in response funding to Ukraine, with $130.1 billion obligated and $86.7 billion disbursed.
From fiscal years 2022 through 2024, Congress appropriated $174.2 billion through five Ukraine supplemental appropriation acts.
An additional $18.2 billion was allocated from annual agency appropriations, and $1.1 billion came from other supplemental acts.
Despite these figures, Zelensky claims that Ukraine has received far less than what has been reported.
“Look, when I hear, and I heard before, and today we hear from the United States of America that America gave Ukraine hundreds of billions, 177, to be more precise,” Zelensky said.
“That’s what the exact figure sounded like, which was supported or voted by the Congress, etc.
“Look, as the President of a warring country, I tell you, we received just over 75.”
He explained that much of the aid was provided in the form of military support rather than direct financial assistance.
“We got it not with money, but with weapons,” he stated.
“We got 70-something billion worth of it.
“There is training, there is additional transport, there are not only prices for weapons, there were humanitarian programs, social, etc.”
However, Zelensky acknowledged that a significant portion of the aid remains unaccounted for.
“But when they say that Ukraine during the war received 200 billion to support the army, etc., this is not true,” Zelensky said.
“I don’t know where all this money is,” he admitted.
The revelations come as questions remain over how U.S. taxpayer dollars have been spent under the previous administration.
President Donald Trump’s administration is now moving to halt further military aid to Ukraine.
