As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Michelle Obama announced she would NOT attend President Trump’s inauguration ceremony on January 20, marking her second snub of the soon-to-be 47th President in as many weeks. Now, we know why she is missing this historic event.
Various reports have revealed that the real reason for Michelle’s snub is much more basic than more wild speculation. Some have even suggested without evidence that a divorce from her husband Barack is looming.
“There’s no overstating her feelings about him (Trump). She’s not one to plaster on a pleasant face and pretend for protocol’s sake,” a source explained to People Magazine. “Michelle doesn’t do anything because it’s expected or it’s protocol or it’s tradition.”
“She served in the public eye and did all the public good that she could for eight years as first lady,” the source added. “You’ll see her when she has a project or cause to promote but she doesn’t feel the need to be a public figure anymore.”
The Hill added support for People Magazine’s revelation that Michelle’s disdain for Trump and desire to avoid the public eye unless it suits her were the reasons for skipping the inauguration.
“She meant every word she said on the campaign trail with every fiber of her being,” one Michelle Obama ally explained to the outlet. “And she’s no hypocrite.”
“She campaigned the hardest against him personally, of anyone,” a Michelle Obama aide added.
This revelation from People Magazine and The Hill should not come as a surprise, considering Michelle viciously attacked Trump throughout the 2024 campaign, including the day before the election.
While Michelle will not attend, Barack will be there along with former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and their wives.
As TGP readers know, Barack Obama and Trump got along quite well when they last met at Jimmy Carter’s funeral.
