Liberal radio host Charlamagne tha God has called on officials in deep blue New York to toss the politically motivated “hush money” case against President Donald Trump.
The black host of “The Breakfast Club” show argues that Trump’s landslide election victory proves that the American people are behind him.
During his radio show, the host, real name Lenard Larry McKelvey, talked about New York Justice Juan Merchan’s upcoming decision on the Trump “hush money” case.
McKelvey said Manhattan’s George Soros-funded Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg should just end the case against Trump.
It comes after Bragg asked Merchan to postpone it until Trump leaves office in 2029.
“New York City, just throw the whole thing away, alright?” McKelvey said.
“Cut it out. Who are we fooling?
“Who are we fooling?” he added.
“Nothing’s going to happen to Trump, and nobody wants that retribution that he may deliver hanging over their head.
“Just — he won the election. It is what it is.
“Cut ties, sever your losses, throw the whole case away. Come on.
“Who are we fooling, y’all? Who are you fooling, like seriously?”
“And if you push it back for four years, that might give him more reason to stay, okay?” the host continued while laughing.
Trump’s legal team has also argued that the case against the president-elect should be dismissed.
Bragg’s team of prosecutors has said that some action should be taken after Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records in May.
Following the election, McKelvey made headlines when he questioned whether Vice President Kamala Harris and other Democrats lied about Trump being a so-called “threat to democracy.”
“I will say this: I’m glad everybody’s having a sense of optimism because the reality is we have no choice because we’re here now,” McKelvey said.
“Donald J. Trump is going to be the 47th president of the United States of America, like it or not, and we all hope for the best for this country. That’s all we can do.”
“But don’t y’all find it strange that now that he’s won, they’re not calling him a threat to democracy?” he added.
“They’re not calling him a fascist. I mean, damn, on Monday, they was just calling him that.”
“I would think that, you know, if you really believe that, then somebody’s speech would be about how America effed up and how things are about to be really bad,” the host continued.
“It just makes you wonder how much of it did they really believe, or how much of it was just politics. That’s all.”
