Lawfare Costs Lives: Left's Hatred of Elon Musk Harmed North Carolinians After Hurricane Helene

The Left hates Elon Musk. Despises him.

Why? Well, Elon Musk committed an unforgivable sin: he freed X from the Left's control and -- with it -- opened up one of the few avenues of free(er) speech on the Internet.

The Left will never, ever forgive him for that. So deep seated is their hatred, that the Biden-Harris administration rescinded a deal with Starlink to provide high-speed Internet to rural areas, in favor of a much more expensive program that cost $82 million and only connected 16,000 homes.

If they hadn't revoked the deal, North Carolina would have almost 20,000 Starlink kits available today. But they don't. And with communications down in Asheville and elsewhere, this lawfare probably cost some people their lives.

The breathtaking pettiness of the Left genuinely terrifies me. We see it in every DEI program they put forth, whether at the FAA or in healthcare, and the message is clear: their agenda is more important than our safety and our lives.

The Left has been very clear that Elon Musk is their enemy du jour because of his acquisition of X and his unwillingness to bend the knee to the pro-censorship crowd, and his open support of Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton called for jailing Americans who post 'misinformation' (and this was obviously directed at Musk). John Kerry called the First Amendment an obstacle to enacting his climate agenda. Tim Walz thinks 'hate speech' is not protected by the Constitution (hey, knucklehead, it is).

Kamala Harris wants to use the DOJ to enact speech codes, and specifically mentioned X and Elon Musk. Why? Because Musk has a lot of followers and -- in Kamala's mind -- that makes him dangerous. He might say things she doesn't like, and she called for 'oversight'. Her position was so outrageous even Jake Tapper was aghast.

Because of this hatred, the Biden-Harris administration did away with logic and reason and withdrew the deal with Starlink. And then Hurricane Helene hit the southeast U.S., and knocked out communications. Civilian first responders restored those communications. With Starlink.

If we had a journalist class -- and we don't -- they'd ask these questions. They would find stories of families unable to reach loved ones, victims swept away by flood waters because they couldn't reach emergency services. They'd place the blame squarely where it belongs: on the Biden-Harris administration and its political pettiness.
