In today’s jobs report, which claimed that job growth expanded by 142,000 in August, also revealed more substantial downward revisions of the previous months.
July was initially reported with the troubling job growth number of 114,000. It was just revised downward to a whopping 89,000.
June, which was initially reported as having a job growth of 206,000, was revised downward last month to 179,000. It was just revised downward by again to 118,000.
So don’t believe the 142,000 that they tout today, because it will be downgraded next month to a much lower number.
The question on many people’s minds is if the BLS is inflating these numbers, only to correct them in later months. June didn’t look that bad when it was initially reported, but it’s fallen by 88,000 jobs in the last two months. It looks as troubling as July did when it first came out.
This is not to mention the massive downward revision of 818,000 jobs for the entire last year through March 2024. What he heck is going on over there???
