Shooter’s parents were looking for him and called police to report him missing day of assassination attempt

Fox News is reporting that the shooter’s parents reported him missing to local police on the day of the assassination attempt, saying they were concerned about him.

Here’s the report:

This is interesting, because NBC News reported yesterday that the father of the shooter called police after the shooting had taken place to report that he was missing, along with the AR-15:

After Crooks opened fire, his father called police to say he was worried that his son and his AR rifle were missing, three senior officials said. Police went to the home after the call.

While it was the day of the shooting, it doesn’t appear that the parents actually gave police a heads up BEFORE the shooting occurred.

In related news, the FBI finally accessed the shooter’s phone but, at least as of yesterday, it’s reported they still haven’t found a motive yet.
