Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison has been grilled over reports that Democrat President Joe Biden is being “bullied out of office.”
During an interview Tuesday, Harrison was pressed about whether Biden was forced to end his re-election campaign by Democratic Party elites.
NBC’s “Today” co-host Craig Melvin questioned Harrison about whether the president jumped or was pushed when he announced his decision to withdraw from the 2024 race on Sunday.
“Listen, the president, we owe him a tremendous amount of gratitude,” Harrison fired back
“He’s a good man. He’s a decent man.
“He’s been a transformational president.
“But what he also demonstrated by stepping out of this race is that he is selfless.”
Melvin followed up: “But was he bullied?”
“He made an assessment, Craig, that this was the best thing for not only the American people but for the Democratic Party,” Harrison added, not fully addressing the question.
Democrats quickly rallied around Vice President Kamala Harris following Biden’s Sunday announcement.
When Biden revealed that he was abandoning his re-election bid, he said he was endorsing Harris for the nomination.
Harrison also discussed their process at the DNC and explained how they plan to nominate Harris.
“This process is going to be fair, transparent, open, but it’s going to be fast,” Harrison said.
“And we have designed it to allow our nominees to really hit the measures and to hit the requirements that are necessary to be on the ballot in all 50 states.
“And in Ohio, in order to be on that ballot, you have to have not only a presidential nominee but also a vice presidential nominee.
“So it is going to be up to the eventual nominee to make that determination.
“But we have designed this process so that they have the sufficient time in order to select who that may be,” Harrison said.
He emphasized that Harris’s vice presidential pick should be decided by August 7, to meet the Ohio ballot deadline.
The rush to move away from Biden and focus on Harris is a change of tune from the DNC, however.
Following his trainwreck debate performance against President Trump at the end of June, Harrison insisted the DNC would stand by Biden.
He told MSNBC that the party was still “riding with Biden” because the president had always been like a “member of your family.”
“What I have seen is that galvanization, particularly in the black community,” he said.
“I’m a black man. I’ve seen the galvanization of support for Joe Biden because, you know, in the black community, in your family, you can say all that you want to say about a member of your family, but don’t let somebody else.”

Meanwhile, concerns have been growing about Biden’s well-being as inconsistencies emerge in the official narrative.
As Slay News reported, Biden hasn’t been seen in public for almost one week since he left for Delaware last Wednesday to supposedly recover from “Covid.”
The announcement about the president ending his re-election bid has only come from a post on Biden’s official X account, which is known to be run by his handlers/staffers.
Further, the post from Biden’s X account contained a letter without an official presidential seal which was supposedly signed by Biden.
However, the signature on the letter does not match Biden’s signature on any other documents, such as executive orders.
