On Tuesday, Joy Behar, co-host of ‘The View,’ decided to lecture two highly respected black conservatives, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, on racism and it’s affect on black people.
Behar ludicrously claimed that neither Justice Thomas nor Senator Scott, who had just launched his 2024 presidential campaign a day earlier, could genuinely understand the reality of being a black man in the United States.
“[Tim Scott] is one of these guys who — you know, he’s like Clarence Thomas — a black Republican who believes in pulling yourself by your bootstraps rather than, to me, understanding the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country and other minorities.”
“He doesn’t get it,” she added, “Neither does Clarence, and that’s why they’re Republicans.”
For Behar, who is white, to claim that Clarence Thomas and Tim Scott don’t understand what it’s like to be a black man in America is ludicrous.
Of course on the flip side, Behar does believe that a man can one day decide to become a woman and it is so and vice versa so it’s clear her grip on reality is thin to begin with.
Co-host Sunny Hostin then agreed with Behar’s claim which is not surprising given both Behar and Hostin have previously criticized Justice Thomas on the show.
Hostin, who is biracial, had previously claimed Justice Thomas didn’t authentically “represent” the black community, while Behar had accused him of being “to the right of Attila the Hun.”
Additionally, co-host Whoopi Goldberg had also recently targeted both Justice Thomas and Senator Scott.
Following the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade, Goldberg claimed that interracial marriages could be the next to face legal challenges.
“You better hope they don’t come for you, Clarence,” she stated, making note of the fact that Justice Thomas is married to a white woman.
Months later, Goldberg jokingly confessed that she needed visual aids to distinguish between Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Rick Scott (R-FL).
“We do deserve to have two strong parties,” Goldberg stated during a conversation about former Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC) announcing a 2024 presidential bid. “So, you know, Tim Scott, black Tim Scott, right? Because there are two Scotts and I don’t know how to differentiate them without a picture.
Rick Scott and Tim Scott. Tim Scott is black, right? Okay … He’s about to run — announce he’s running.”
