Jeremy Boland, the Assistant Principal at Cos Cob Elementary School in Greenwich, Connecticut, was caught on camera by a Project Veritas undercover journalist admitting, on two separate occasions, that he discriminates against people based on religious and political affiliation when hiring new faculty in order to push his personal political agenda on the students.

Project Veritas was able to capture Boland on video on three separate occasions admitting to discriminatory hiring practices, all geared towards curating a teaching staff that will purposefully indoctrinate the young students into a Left-wing ideology.

While speaking with the undercover journalist, Boland complained about the parents at the elementary school and their tendency to want to be involved with the education of their children.

“I can’t get past the parents anymore,” Boland said. “The parents feel as though it’s their responsibility to shape the schools, which then shape the kids, right? So, because I can’t get past the parents, do I really have as much of an influence on the kids as I want?”

“I try in my own way,” continued Boland. “But right now my job is to hire the right teachers.”

This blatant disregard and disrespect for the parents is shocking. James O’Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas, shared a letter from the elementary school that was sent to the parents, thanking them for “entrusting us with the care of your child.”

Little do the parents know that the leadership of the school doesn’t care about the parent’s wishes, and is solely focused on indoctrinating their children.

While discussing the hiring process, Boland gave the undercover journalist an example of a question he might ask a potential candidate. In the mock interview question, Boland laid out a situation in which the parent disagrees with the teacher’s reading development plan for their child.

“Okay, so if someone sides with the parent, then what?” asked the PV journalist.

“You let them explain,” said Boland, who then revealed that a candidate who would side with the parent ultimately would not get the job.

Boland also went into depth on how he identifies conservatives among prospective employees and then eliminates them from the hiring process.

The journalist asked Boland, “In the hiring process, how can you figure out who is conservative and who’s liberal?”

“It comes down to the stories,” said Boland. “I’ve developed a set of questions that I use for almost all my interviews and it’s all leading them to tell a story.”

Then, if the job applicant is determined to be conservative based on their interview, Boland revealed they are cut from the pool of applicants. The assistant principal also revealed that, if the interviewee seems to be opposed to a child identifying as transgender or nonbinary, they will also be refused a job.

“I haven’t hired one yet,” bragged Boland, referring to conservatives.

“And would you ever you think?” asked the journalist.

“I don’t think so,” Boland said, explaining that he thinks conservatives have a “stuck mindset,” whereas he needs someone with a “growth mindset.”

It seems like Boland is the one who has a stuck mindset, being under the illusion that it’s okay to only hire people whose political beliefs line up with his own.

Boland doesn’t just discriminate against people with certain political beliefs. In the recordings, he also admitted to discriminating against job candidates based on their religion as well.

When asked about religious beliefs, Boland revealed that he has strongly stereotyped certain religious groups to align with political parties. He assumes Protestants to be liberal, and Catholics to be conservative.

“Oh,” said the journalist. “So then what do you do with the Catholics? If you find out someone is Catholic then what?”

Boland shrugged then said, “You don’t hire them.”

The journalist also asked Boland if he would ever hire a Catholic, to which he responded, “Honestly, I don’t want to.”

“Because… if they were raised hardcore Catholic, it’s like they’re brainwashed,” he continued. “You can never change their mindset.”

The PV journalist continued to press him for more details about his hiring practices. At one of their meetings, she asked if he has “had a lot of right-wingers applying.” Boland reveals that he hasn’t had to interview many because he feels like he’s “able to screen it out” before the applicant even makes it to the interview portion of the hiring process.

He elaborated on how he “screens out” conservatives before even meeting them, saying he needs “younger” candidates, blatantly admitting to discriminating based on the applicant’s age.

If the candidate is older than Boland’s preferred age range, he doesn’t even bring them in for an interview, regardless of their teaching qualifications/reputation.

“For one position, I think we had 30 applicants,” said Boland. “So, out of all those applicants, I don’t think I interviewed anybody over the age of 30.”

Sometimes the older you get the more set in your ways, the more conservative you get,” reasoned Boland.

The hiring practices used by Boland are in direct violation of Connecticut General Statutes Title 46A, Section 46a-60, which prohibits discriminatory employment practices. Specifically, this law makes it illegal for anyone to “refuse to hire or employ… because of the individual’s race, color, religious creed, age, sex, gender identity or expression,” etc.

Although Boland is using incredibly discriminatory and unethical hiring practices, he still maintained that he is doing a good thing by setting up the foundation for the children at his school to be liberal-minded.

“You’re teaching them how to think… If they think about it in a logical, progressive way, that becomes their habit,” Boland told the PV journalist.

“So you kind of like gear them to think in a more liberal way?” the journalist asked, which Boland affirmed.

“The open-minded, more progressive teachers are actually more savvy about delivering a Democratic message without really ever having to mention their politics,” he added. “It’s subtle. They’ll never say ‘Oh, this is a liberal or a Democratic way of doing this.’ They just make that the norm.”

“That’s how I get away with it.”

The oh-so-clever Jeremy Boland was a Physical Education teacher at Greenwich Public Schools from 2006 to 2018, when he was promoted to ‘Program Coordinator for the Physical Education/Wellness/Family and Consumer Science Programs.’

It seems that he became the Cos Cob Elementary School Asst. Principal sometime after 2019.

Boland’s LinkedIn profile has been deleted, but it is unclear if the recent Project Veritas video is to blame.

On Cos Cob Elementary’s Facebook Group page, someone posted a screenshot of an email they received from Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Toni Jones, which promised a “full investigation” before they release any public statement on the matter. Jones also says that Greenwich Public Schools does not “support any opinions that promote discriminatory hiring practices based on race, religion, gender, or age in any way.”
