Oldest Serving Hate Group Member Rep. Bobby Rush Leaves Congress After 30 Years

Rep. Bobby Rush, a former top official with the Black Panthers, a fan of Fidel Castro, joins the mob of House longtimers headed to the exit.

According to Rush, he wants to spend more time with his grandchildren. This sudden desire to spend time with his family coincides with the desires of many other Dems to spend time with their families, house pets, and Swiss bank accounts.

Rush, in his Black Panther days, had threatened, "We plan to arm the total black community so when the pigs come down on us, we will be equal... we advocate offensive violence against the power structure."

Since then, Rush has accused Republicans of wanting a race war.

The former Black Panther Deputy Minister of Defense never got around to arming all blacks. Or anyone. After his son, named after Black Panther, Huey P. Newton, was shot over drugs, he began campaigning to ban all guns.

But he did find ways to cash in on his office.

Rep. Bobby Rush (D., Ill.) has paid both his wife and the church he founded hundreds of thousands of dollars from his campaign’s coffers since 2002, campaign finance records show.

Fight the power, man. Fight the power.

His people are poorer than ever, but Bobby's doing well. And with that the oldest serving member of a racist hate group leaves office.
