Democrat Governor Admits COVID Hospitalization May Be Inflated By 50%, Announces Change in Counting

The Governor of New York—a State known for having rigid vaccine mandates—the State recently labeled as the “least free State in the nation,” acknowledged on Monday that COVID related hospitalization stats were “likely overcounted by as much as 50%,” according to the Daily Wire.

At a speaking engagement in Rochester, Governor Kathy Hochul told News 10 reporter Jennifer Lewke that in 2021, individuals admitted to a hospital due to an injury or auto accident, if testing positive for COVID, were counted as a COVID-related hospitalization, even if the hospital did not treat the patient for COVID symptoms.

Hochul noted she had requested hospitals modify their reporting procedures as of Jan. 4, 2022.

“Beginning tomorrow [Tuesday] we’re going to be asking all hospitals to break out for us, how many people are being hospitalized because of COVID symptoms, how many people happen to test positive just while they’re in there for other treatments,” Hochul said.

“I think that’s important, I just want to be honest with New Yorkers about how bad this is. Yes, the number of people infected is high, but I want to see whether or not the hospitalizations correlate with that.”

Some charge the admission points to systematic misrepresentation of data to prompt citizens to be vaccinated.

The Governor’s admission follows last week’s surprise disclosure by New York’s acting Health Commissioner, Dr. Mary Bassett, who noted that officials inflated numbers to “motivate” parents to vaccinate their children.

Last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci made a similar admission regarding inflated numbers, the Daily Wire reported:

Fauci told MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin:

“Since all children are tested for COVID-19 when they enter a hospital, regardless of the reason they are there, that many children are hospitalized ‘with COVID’ rather than ‘because of COVID.’ Because of that, some COVID-19 cases can be ‘over counted.’

The admissions are startling but have long been suspected. On Oct 8, 2021, the New York Times issued a correction, admitting it had “inflated the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations of children by more than 800,000.”

Americans continue to push for accuracy and transparency in reporting—particularly since these stats drive government decisions regarding vaccine mandates and lockdowns.
