Rep. Gosar posts ‘anime’ video of him attacking AOC, Biden

A Republican congressman tweeted a digitally edited anime-style video that shows him slashing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and lunging with two swords at President Biden.

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) was slammed for posting the strange video and flagged by Twitter for violating the social media platform’s rules about hateful conduct.

However, the video is still visible with a message saying Twitter “determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”

The video shared Sunday is a take on “Attack on Titan,” created by Hajime Isayama, according to The Hill.

“Any anime fans out there?” Gosar wrote in the post accompanying the 92-second video, which also splices in footage of migrants at the border.

In one scene, Gosar’s face is pasted to an animated figure that jumps in the air and stabs a larger character with AOC’s face. Later, the Gosar character jumps at a giant Biden with two swords ready to strike.

Twitter flagged the video posted by Rep. Paul Gosar for violating their hateful content policy, but ultimately let the post remain.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) called the post “sick behavior.”

“He tweeted out the video showing him killing Rep. Ocasio-Cortez from both his official account and personal account,” Lieu posted on Twitter Monday.

“In any workplace in America, if a coworker made an anime video killing another coworker, that person would be fired.”

Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) blasted the video in a series of tweets from Scotland, where she had just arrived to attend the ongoing United Nations Climate Change Conference.

“So while I was en route to Glasgow, a creepy member I work with who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups shared a fantasy video of him killing me,” AOC said.

“And he’ll face no consequences bc @GOPLeader cheers him on with excuses,” she said. “Fun Monday! Well, back to work bc institutions don’t protect woc [women of color].”
