Scientists May Have Just Confirmed One Of The Biggest Stories From The Bible

(JustPatriots.com)- Scientists have reportedly discovered what they believe could be physical evidence of an exploding space rock that could have been the inspiration for one of the most influential stories in the Bible.

Archaeologist Christopher R. Moore revealed new evidence of a rock that hurtled towards the ancient city of Sodom, which is now known as Tall el-Hammam, at speeds reaching 38,000 mph. Moore told the press how the evidence shows the rock headed towards the city around 3,600 years ago, which coincides with the destruction of a city close to the Dead Sea caused by stones that fell from the sky.

The discovery, according to a Yahoo News report, is the culmination of 15 years of excavation. Archaeologists have finally concluded that a firestorm destroyed the ancient city, evidenced by the presence of a thick layer of ash, melted mud, charcoal, and melted pottery that is five feet thick.

Archaeologists were able to determine that the only possible event that could have created such high temperatures – high enough to melt the material found in the site – was a cosmic impact. They suspected that the crater was caused by an asteroid.

Those scientists estimated that the asteroid would have exploded around 2.5 miles above the ground, creating a blast roughly 1,000 times more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped in Hiroshima. Moore said that such an impact would have increased air temperature to 3,600 degrees.

The impact would have created a shockwave traveling around the earth at 740 mph, which is faster than any recorded tornado, destroying any buildings and structures and killing everyone in its path.

Could scientists have just corroborated the Bible with cold, hard, evidence?
