BUTTER CAKE

 



BUTTER CAKE made the old-fashioned way!! Butterly moist on the inside, yet a perfectly buttery crunch on the outside!! ADDICTIVE!! OLD-Fashioned BUTTER CAKE Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Set aside. 1 cup butter, softened 2 cups sugar 4 large eggs at room temperature 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup buttermilk BUTTER SAUCE 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter, cubed 1/4 cup water 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1. In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar until lightly fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating until incorporated. Beat in vanilla extract. Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Beat well. Alternate the flour with buttermilk until well blended. 2. Pour cake batter into prepared tube pan. Spread out evenly. 3. Bake for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 4. Using a plastic knife to loosen edges and center of tube pan. 5. Invert cake onto a wire rack. 6. FOR THE SAUCE... In a small sauce pan, over medium-heat, add butter, sugar, and water. Heat until butter has melted, and sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat. Add vanilla extract. Stir. 7. Using a skewer poke holes in the top of cake. 8. Add butter sauce slowing, or use a brush to apply.
