Forty-six-year-old Juan Jimenez-Salas was wanted on 11 felony charges, including five counts of rape and six counts of indecency with a child was killed on March 18, 2021.
After pointing a gun at police during a traffic stop in Arlington, Texas, a child rape suspect wanted in Arkansas on 11 felony charges was killed this week.
“The officer discharged his duty gun and struck the suspect. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. It is unclear why the suspect wanted in Arkansas was in Arlington. We are thankful no innocent community members or officers were injured. Case will go to @TarrantCountyDA,” the Arlington Police Department said in a tweet on March 19.
According to police, the suspect had previously been removed from the United States due to similar charges.
Juan Jimenez-Salas, 46, was later discovered to be an illegal Mexican alien who had previously been deported from the United States.
According to police, the perpetrator is accused of molesting his Arkansas girlfriend’s two young daughters on many occasions. Both of the girls were less than 10 years old.
“Approximately 20 years ago, he was arrested on felony charges similar to that on what we have on him in this case now,” Capt. Scott Harwell of the El Dorado Police Department in Arkansas told the station. “And he was deported back to Mexico.”
According to FOX 4, Jimenez-Salas was wanted for five felony counts of rape and six felony counts of indecency with a child, all of which included the two children.
“Authorities had been searching for Jimenez-Salas since November when the girls’ father in North Texas told police he believed Jimenez-Salas had been raping the Texas man’s children,” Harwell told FOX 4. “The girls had reportedly told their father they were raped in a McKinney, Texas, hotel room while traveling with their mother and the suspect.”
A task force from the U.S. Marshals Service tracked Jimenez-Salas to North Texas on Thursday. The suspect’s car was then noticed by Arlington Police, who pulled him over for a traffic violation. The perpetrator took out a gun and pointed it at an Arlington officer who was assisting U.S. marshals. The officer was able to protect himself and killed Jimenez-Salas.
