'Biting incident' leads to Biden's dogs getting sent back to Delaware: Report

The White House appears to have a Major problem on its hands.

President Biden and first lady Jill Biden’s two pet German shepherds, Major and Champ, were sent back to the president’s home in Delaware last week after 3-year-old Major showed signs of aggression, CNN reported on Monday night.

One source told the outlet there was a “biting incident” involving a member of White House security, whose condition remains unclear. The Washington Examiner reached out to the White House for confirmation and comment but did not immediately receive a response.

The Bidens adopted Major in November 2018 from an animal shelter. Their other dog, Champ, is 13 years old. The duo moved into the White House soon after Biden was inaugurated. The source said that in addition to the most recent incident, Major has been caught barking, jumping, and “charging” at staff in the White House.

The dogs’ arrival at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. marked the first time the White House has had animals in four years, given that former President Donald Trump didn’t have any pets. During the campaign, Biden hit at Trump for being the first president in more than a century not to bring any pets to the White House.

“It says a lot. It’s time we put a pet back in the White House,” said on Twitter more than a year before the November election.

Major and Champ have their own Instagram page, which features photos of the two pooches at the White House.
