Both the State Department and the Department of Justice reported that a senior adviser to President Joe Biden, Kurt Campbell, appointed by the president, chaired an alleged Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda group until August.
Campbell is now the chief Asia policy coordinator at the National Security Council (NSC), and helped found the U.S.-China Strong Foundation, a think tank that supported the CCP’s political and economic programs, according to The Washington Free Beacon Jan. 27.
“The indicators suggest that the U.S.-China Strong Foundation could be a [Chinese Communist Party] front group, or so heavily influenced by the CCP as to be tantamount to a front group,” warned intelligence analyst and Journal of Political Risk editor Anders Corr.
Until August Campbell was vice chairman of the board of directors of the U.S.-China Strong Foundation, ostensibly dedicated to student language exchanges with the CCP.
Moreover, this foundation was funded by the head of a CCP propaganda front group associated with a Chinese mission abroad.
The foundation was also linked to the Confucius Institutes of America, an alleged educational entity funded by the Chinese Communist Party, deeply involved in espionage activities within universities including introducing spies and collaborators into academia.
The State Department labeled it “an entity advancing Beijing’s global propaganda and malign influence campaign on the U.S.” and required it to register as a foreign mission, which it did.
Ties between some of Biden’s top appointees and the CCP are growing in number.
Such is the case with U.S. Ambassador-elect to the U.N. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, who also advertised for the CCP at one of the Confucius Institutes in Africa in 2019.
A similar situation is that of the director of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) also proposed by Biden, Alejandro Mayorkas. He was linked to the CCP, and involved in scandals for the apparent sale of green cards to 100 Chinese citizens.
Biden chose for senior director for intelligence programs at the National Security Council Palestinian American activist Maher Bitar, who may interfere in intelligence sharing with Israel given his militancy in the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Biden’s first days at the helm of the government have caused much uneasiness among Americans, who observe actions that tend more toward the destruction of jobs in the country and approaching enemy regimes than toward the unity of the country he initially proposed.
