The following editorial is written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today
WASHINGTON, DC- While Democrats continue to do the Macarena because they think they have defeated President Trump, they missed a much larger point. They got their ass handed to them.
In the lead up to the election, polls had this as a rout. A giddy media complex were ecstatic, one might say orgasmic. They showed Biden with over 330 electoral votes, an old-fashioned ass-kicking. Sadly for Democrats and their media cheerleaders, Biden will come nowhere close to that. The country is clearly divided, nearly 50/50. But there is much more to the story than that.
Democrats have gone way left and they were banking on their case of Trump Derangement Syndrome to filter down to the Senate and House races. Their 110-page Biden-Sanders Unity Plan, aka their Communist Manifesto light was going to sail through the House, then the Senate, and then when they could wake up Biden from his afternoon nap, he would sign it.
Green New Deal, fracking ban, gutting the 2nd Amendment, packing the Supreme Court, adding two new surely blue states in Puerto Rico and Washington, DC, end the filibuster. They would be ruling unabated for decades.
Alas, that did not occur. While turnout from Democrats appears to have favored Biden, turnout for Republicans—or more specifically President Trump—was also spectacular. Republicans were very motivated to come out, in no small part due to wanting to re-elect Trump, but also to block the radicals from ruling the Senate.
As of this writing, the Senate still remains in the hands of Republicans, a tenuous majority but a majority, nonetheless. In addition, the Republicans gained a LOT of seats in the House. There is a slim possibility that they might have enough to take the majority, but if they don’t, they will have a stronger presence in the lower chamber.
There is also something of a civil war building in the House. The far-left nutjobs, led by Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, Tlaib, Pressley and others seem poised to exercise their increasing presence on the left side of the aisle.
Nancy Pelosi is on the ropes after failing to increase the Democratic membership in the House, which she had promised would happen. In their minds, Democrats were expecting a blue tidal wave to sweep the Republicans to insignificance.
President Trump, the Republicans in the House and Senate, and conservative media did an excellent job of letting their base know exactly what the Democrats had in mind for the country. They also took their case to independent voters who are much more pragmatic than their far-left neighbors.
Democrats were not interested in gaining the majority for the benefit of the American people. They were looking for payback. In fact, former Clinton administration member Robert Reich suggested some form of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission in order to go after Trump and Trump supporters.
Oh, he didn’t say that of course, but you didn’t have to read too far between the lines to see exactly what he was talking about.
In 2008, President Barack Obama talked about fundamentally transforming the United States. In some ways he accomplished that, but not to the degree this new generation of Democrats was looking to. They wanted to make it so Democrats would never lose another national election ever again. In other words, they wanted to game the system.
Another priority for Democrats? Open our borders to millions of new voters, who would ostensibly vote blue. Defund the police, or as Kamala Harris called it, “reimagine” the police.
We know what that means. Get rid of cash bail and virtually eliminate prisons was another priority. This, after six months of endless violence and riots.
Kamala Harris gave it away the other day, just days before the election. She spoke of equity of outcomes, not equality of opportunity.
So, what does that mean exactly? It means that everyone ends up in the same place, irrespective of work, drive, and motivation. What incentive therefore would there be to work hard, when everyone ends up in the same place?
That by the way is called communism. They’re not even hiding it anymore.
Do you send your kids to private or parochial school? Charter school? Under the Democrat manifesto, that would have become illegal. Failing public schools or bust.
History? Well according to ideology embraced by the left via the “1619 Project,” America was not born on July 4, 1776 but rather in 1619, when the first slaves arrived from Africa.
Because you see, for Democrats, everything is about color and race. There’s no “content of a man’s character”—only the color of their skin. Our country was formed on the basis of white supremacy and racism.
Typically, much of the above comes from primarily right-leaning outlets such as the opinion side of Fox News, and others, such as The Blaze, Breitbart News, and Real Clear Politics. This time however, Democrats were not even hiding what their intentions were.
Their communist manifesto was on the Biden campaign page for all to read. They even summarized each of their areas of change to make it easier to see exactly what they had planned.
They spoke openly of packing the Supreme Court, accusing the Republicans of packing the courts when all they did is fill judicial vacancies not taken up by Barack Obama during his term. In other words, they were doing their job.
They railed against President Trump nominating Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court when Justice Ginsburg died, however that is his duty under the Constitution and has been done by numerous presidents previously in election years.
Democrats, still butthurt from the Republican-controlled Senate refusing to advance the nomination of Judge Merrick Garland in 2015, complained Republicans were being hypocrites by voting on Justice Barrett’s nomination.
However, had the Democrats been in the White House and the Senate majority this year, does anyone think they would not have done the same thing?
Democrats were open about adding two new states, eliminating the filibuster, doing away with the electoral college and other radical ideas.
This didn’t just come from the loony left but was parroted on DNC state TV such as MSNBC, CNN, and the regular networks. It was in opinion pages in the New York Times, Washington Post and other left-leaning publications.
Hollywood beautiful people were tweeting out to their adoring, brain-dead fans about all the radical plans the left had in mind when they kicked those rascally Republicans to the curb.
And it backfired in spectacular fashion. And it may still backfire in their quest for the White House, because in the case of President Donald Trump, the leftists trying to steal the election from him are messing with the wrong dude.
If there is a way to pull this fiasco out of the fire, Trump will find it.
The American people saw the Democrats referring to President Trump as a fascist when it was the Democrats who were promising to act as such.
The sheer arrogance of their words was a wonder to see. And most right-thinking Americans, who can see beyond their hatred of one man, saw that. It also set a fire under the Republican base like I’ve never seen in my 50-something years of following politics.
The Democrats seriously misread the American people. We won’t even get into the media and the pollsters. Out of this whole election cluster, the ones with the most egg on their faces besides Democrats are pollsters and the media, who all got it tremendously wrong.
There are those who say that Biden, should he win, might be able to circumvent Congress and therefore the Senate and just go the executive order route. There is no doubt that the “squad” members will attempt to take advantage of a doddering, senile old man in order to push through their radical agenda.
We will guarantee one thing. If Democrats thought the Republican base was fired up this election cycle, they ain’t seen nothing yet if they try to ramrod their Marxist ideology through and dump it on the American people. We have already seen after the election where Democratic hijinks with mail-in balloting has created chaos, Republicans are a motivated, angry lot.
Democrats better be careful what they ask for because in 2022, if they continue their march to the far left, Republicans will be poised to give them an ass-kicking of epic proportions.
