On Thursday night, President Trump announced that he and First Lady Melania had both tested positive for covid-19.
Reaction from the left was as predictable and as revolting as an ISIS murder video.
Put simply, leftists on Twitter stated their wishes that the President and First Lady die horrible covid-19 deaths. Here are some samples:
From @ZaraRahim, former Obama white House staffer and Clinton National Spokeswoman, “I hope he dies.”
Congressional candidate Steve Cox (@RealSteveCox), “No I’m not. I hope they both die.”
Lisa Curry (@lisa_curry), “I hope he suffers through this and dies as he’s losing on election night.
There is no shortage of quotes like these but quoting more would not be informative or amusing. The point is that many people, all leftists, are posting messages like these on Twitter.
When contacted for comment by Vice News, Twitter responded that they would apply the same standard used for other death threats.
“Content that wishes, hopes or expresses a desire for death, serious bodily harm or fatal disease against an individual is against our rules,” Twitter said in a statement on Friday.
They have given themselves some wiggle room, by saying they won’t take enforcement action on every tweet [that violates their rules] but will prioritize the removal of content that the believe could result in real-world harm.
In the context of tweets wishing that the president dies of a virus he already has, it is conceivable that only a tiny percentage of the total would meet the standard for enforcement. In other words, no enforcement.
Facebook didn’t even pretend they would enforce rules against wishing for the death of someone on their platform. When asked about their policy by Vice, Facebook responded that “For public figures, we remove attacks that are severe as well as certain attacks where the public figure is directly tagged in the post or comment.”
For the most part, they avoid enforcement of this type because it inhibits “public discourse” about controversial public figures.
Reading through the partial list of these loathsome tweets embedded in a Breitbart.com article was like walking through a thick cloud of malodorous swamp gas. How any person could write those evil words and still count themselves as members of the human race, let alone Americans, escapes me completely.
How is it that famous actors and politicians feel they can say these malicious things without permanently staining their reputations? I read tweets like these and can’t help but imagine the people who wrote them covered in raw, stinking sewage down to their soul.
It isn’t a good look. It isn’t conducive to good business, any degree of respectability, or their reputation.
Maybe evil-minded persons don’t mind associating exclusively with other evil-minded persons. Maybe that is why the world looks so bleak to them and they are incapable of peaceful solutions.
In a situation like this, the people wishing death on our president and his wife should be ashamed of themselves. They aren’t because they lack the wisdom to understand what they’ve done.
What they need is a visit from their collective grandmas, armed with paddles, and a good old-fashioned spanking.
Social media explodes with hate, calls for death of President, First Lady after they test positive for virus
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Many of us are waking up to the news that Hope Hicks, one of the President’s advisors tested positive for COVID-19. Now, after traveling to the debates and back on Air Force one together, President Donald J. Trump and the First Lady, Melania, have also tested positive.
Above all else, we here at Law Enforcement Today wish all three of them a speedy recovery from any symptoms that they may have to deal with during this process.
Late Thursday night, the President tweeted:
Just after midnight, he followed that up with this:
Again, our thoughts and prayers go out to he, Melania and Hope Hicks.
Vice President Mike Pence tweeted his thoughts as well, saying:
“Karen and I send our love and prayers to our dear friends President @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS Melania Trump. We join millions across America praying for their full and swift recovery. God bless you President Trump & our wonderful First Lady Melania.”
As of this writing, there has been no official statement regarding this breaking news from the Biden-Harris campaign. The President has indicated that they will quarantine at home in the residence at the White House, but he will continue to be on the job, fulfilling his obligations and duties.
According to a tweet from ABC News, the First Lady issued the following statement:
“As too many Americans have done this year, @potus and I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good and I have postponed all upcoming events. Please be sure you are staying safe and we will all get through this together.”
Here is the full statement from Dr. Sean Conely, the President’s physician.
“I release the following information with the permission of President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
This evening I received confirmation that both President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.
The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions.
Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments.”
This is a developing story and we will continue to provide updates as they become available over the next hours, days and weeks.
In the meantime, the news has been out for less than an hour, and already, the hatred that the left has for this man is running over the top of the social media cup. People are actually celebrating that the President and his wife have contracted a virus that many people believe is responsible for the deaths of more than 200,000 Americans.
Tom Arnold, in a tweet he has since deleted, listed Hope Hick’s cell phone number and sarcastically called on his followers to call her and wish her well.
People responded directly to the President’s announcement directly to his tweet.
Without fail, there were those who made it all political.
“The first phase of America’s reaction to this shocking breaking news is clearly going to be focused on when the White House knew certain things and who it revealed them to and didn’t The second phase will focus on the profound impact this will have on the campaign. #TrumpHasCovid”
We cannot say we are surprised by these types of responses. Here are some of the tamer ones.
And of course, there are those that are wishing death upon them.

Of course, there are plenty who support the First Family and wish them well. And some of that support came form some unlikely places. After learning of the President’s test results, Alyssa Milano tweeted:
“As someone who has had #COVID19 and still suffers from post-covid syndrome, I can honestly say with all that I am that I wouldn’t wish this virus on my worst enemy.
And if that wasn’t shocking enough, how about this one from MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow?
“God bless the president and the first lady. If you pray, please pray for their speedy and complete recovery — and for everyone infected, everywhere. This virus is horrific and merciless — no one would wish its wrath on anyone. We must get its spread under control. Enough.”
As usual, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who still serves as a member of the Hawaii Army National Guard, shows why she is a cut above most of her Democrat counterparts.
James Woods, an ardent supporter of the President, after hearing the news:
Thankfully, there are millions of people in this country who grasp the fact, that whether you agree with the President is irrelevant. We need to keep him and his family, and that of Hope Hicks, in our prayers. Period.
We should never delight in, cheer on, or hope for the death or serious injury or illness of the President of the United States.
Luckily, we haven’t seen a whole lot of conversations of Democrats invoking the 25th Amendment. But rest assured. It is coming.
