Group Behind That Letter Demanding Bill Barr’s Resignation Is Revealed, Ted Cruz Responds Perfectly

Group Behind That Letter Demanding Bill Barr's Resignation Is Revealed, Ted Cruz Responds Perfectly
Attorney General William Barr appears before a Senate Appropriations subcommittee to make his Justice Department budget request, Wednesday, April 10, 2019, in Washington.
It’s been an interesting few days for AG Bill Barr. He’s had an organized effort of former DOJ employees demanding his resignation. Then, last night, the Washington Post ran to report that he was thinking about resigning over Trump’s tweets. How true that was is still very much in doubt.
Now, the group behind that letter has been revealed and you’ll be less than shocked at who’s behind it.
Remember that letter that tried to lobby Robert Mueller to charge Donald Trump with obstruction of justice? Yeah, it’s the same group and it’s being run by a myriad of anti-Trump forces, from former Obama and Schiff staffers, to being advised by the likes of Evan McMullin.
Ted Cruz responded in perfect fashion.
When you begin from the starting point of the assumption that all these D.C. based machinations targeting Trump, Barr, etc. are simply a grift by some greasy palmed left-wing activist group, you end up a lot closer to the mark more often than not. None of this organic and it’s misleading at best.
Think about this. Right now, in 2020, there are 120,000 DOJ employees. That’s just currently active. Now imagine how many hundreds of thousands have shuffled through over the last several decades and qualify as “former” in this case. Getting 2,000 partisans to sign a letter is not only not impressive, it’s incredibly weak. That means that the vast majority do not find it proper to interject themselves here. Perhaps there is hope for the DOJ?
The fact that the group behind this is run by a bunch of Obama and Schiff staffers should surprise no one. It also completely discredits their efforts. While the mainstream media are going gaga over this, you now have the real story. Treat it with the appropriate regard.
