Hundreds of members of the patriotic movement Generation Identitaire gathered in the streets of Paris this weekend to march against the Islamization of their country.
The demonstration comes about a week after the “march against Islamophobia” organized left-wing activists and anti-French globalist politicians to protest what they falsely perceive to be growing anti-Islamic sentiment.
According to organizers from Generation Identitaire, as many as 800 people were present at the march which saw demonstrators hold French flags and display photos of terrorists like the perpetrators of the Charlie Hebdo attacks, Le Point reports.
Clement Gandelin, president of Génération Identitaire and one of the organizers of the march, told journalists: “This demonstration, it was organized in response to the attack that took place at the police headquarters in Paris [perpetrated in early October by an agent suspected of radicalization]and today we realize that we live in a crazy society where Islamists manage to infiltrate our highest institutions.”
“If we are present today, it is to represent the people of France, the true ones, those who have really been living here together, not the ‘make-shift’ community that is imposed on us,” said the spokesperson for Generation Identitaire, Anaïs Ligner, at the beginning of the march.
“That Muslims, Muslim associations, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Salafists, want to impose their customs, their laws, their beliefs, their customs at home is our problem, and it must not be accepted,” said Jean-Yves Le Gallou, former executive of the National Front and president of the Polemia identity foundation.
Patrick, a 67-year-old retired English teacher said, “We love our country and we are worried about its future, we must mobilize against Islamism. In the canteens, our children eat halal, our women are beaten, with the complicity of the policies.”
In early September, Voice of Europe reported on Clément Gandelin and two other members of Generation Identitaire being sentenced to six months in prison for organizing and carrying out a peaceful expedition in the Alps designed to bring attention to the migrant crisis.
