A military-aged migrant has been sentenced to just three years in prison for repeatedly raping an 11-year-old and getting her pregnant twice. In addition to the three-year prison sentence, the Swedish court also ruled that the migrant would be able to return to Sweden after 10 years.
The migrant, who’s in his twenties and who’s nationality hasn’t been released, began his sexual relationship with the 11-year-old sometime during the summer of 2018, repeatedly sexually assaulting her throughout the summer, reports Nyheter Idag.
It wasn’t until a year later, in July of 2019, when the migrant was finally arrested by police. Last month, Swedish prosecutors charged the man with four counts of rape, three of which he was found guilty of.
Throughout the time she was being raped, the child victim fell pregnant two times. Swedish media has not been able to determine whether any of the pregnancies were taken to term. However, SVT did report that forensics showed that the rapist was the father.
Despite the rapist denying having known the girl’s age, the Blekinge District Court found the migrant guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison. Only two will be served. The court also ordered the migrant rapist to pay damages of 22,000 euros and expelled him from Sweden for ten years.
