De Blasio registers zero support for president in NYC: poll

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s quixotic campaign for president has even become a big zero among Democratic voters on his home turf of New York City.
De Blasio is registered as having “0” support from Big Apple Democrats in a Siena College poll on the presidential primary in New York State.
By comparison, Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., eked out 1% support in de Blasio’s city.
De Blasio also registered zero support from union households, blacks and Hispanics statewide, according to the cross-tabs in the Siena survey.
Siena pollster Steven Greenberg said the “0” listed in the cross-tabs really means less than 1%.
“One person in the sample chose Bill de Blasio for president,” Greenberg said. That’s out of 359 Democrats queried statewide.
That one vote came from a city voter, he said.
Greenberg said the stunning lack of support in the city was not a surprise.
“No more so than his favorability numbers, particularly with Democrats and NYC voters,” Greenberg said.
Hizzoner was underwater among Democrats. Only 33% of Democrats statewide had a favorable view of de Blasio, compared to 54% who gave him a thumbs-down.
Among New York City voters, only one-third viewed him favorably and 58% unfavorably, the poll found.
The survey of 359 Democrats has a margin of error of 6.1 percentage points.
